It was only a dusting of snow ❄️ but the crunch underfoot, the howling wind, the dripping melt - all made for a magical morning ✨️ Oh and the garlic says hello 👋🧄

Society says this is the season of resolutions.
Of vision boards and bold declarations.
Of becoming the "new you."

But while the calendar turns, the earth does not rush.

We are only just stepping into winter.
A season meant for rest and mending.
For sitting with what has been, without grasping for what’s next.

Winter is not a time for blooming.
It is a time for composting.
For letting things break down.
For quiet work happening far below the surface.

I wrap myself in layers like soil.
Blankets pulled close.
Movies, books, and simple snacks become slow-release fertilizer —
nothing flashy, just enough to sustain what’s forming.

I hold a loose vision of spring,
not as a deadline,
but as a promise.
With no rush for it to arrive.

Not everything needs to grow right now.
