We are proud to introduce G+ Drover 404N23 - our purchase at the recent Gene Plus sale!! Drover, who is sired by the timeless Trail Boss 30B3, promises to build on the legacy of his sire and enhance the imprint he leaves on the Brangus breed. Trail Boss will go down as a legendary sire and is still highly relevant as is indicated by the continued popularity of his offspring. This fact was exemplified at the most recent GenePlus female sale back in November when a Trail Boss sired female raised by Robert Capote was the high selling bred heifer in that sale.
Great bulls are always backed by a strong maternal foundation and Drover checks this box as well. Brickhouse daughters are developing a reputation for maternal excellence and Drover’s dam, SF Miss Brickhouse 404F5, earned her way to the donor pen by consistently dragging great calves to the weaning pen. 404F5 proved her merit as a donor at the Spring 2026 GenePlus sale as she placed 7 bulls in the sale by 3 different sires in her first round of embryos!! Furthering the maternal excellence in Drover’s pedigree is his maternal granddam 404A, who anchored the donor pen at Schmidt’s for years before selling as a feature lot for $65,000 in the GenePlus sale in 2019.
There is way more to Drover than genetic excellence!! Drover is a “R” numbered bull that is a rib longer than most of his contemporaries and possesses that ‘big top’ that is lacking in many bulls these days. In addition, he has a big hip, tremendous width through his lower stifle that carries all the way through to the ground, and is deep bodied - making him truly three dimensional. These characteristics are validated in his actual data- where he posted a 793 pound weaning weight, a 1272 pound yearling weight, and scanned a 16.50 Ribeye area. Furthermore, he is extended through his front 1/3 and that trait coupled with the fact he is a “Registered Brangus” bull gives us hope Drover will produce those great “R” numbered females that many of our customers in the show world have been requesting!
