Are you growing comfrey yet? It is a wonderful bio-accululator (meaning it pulls lots of minerals from the ground, so it is a powerhouse for making compost or using for chop and drop). Our chickens and cows love it, and we use it to make salves and tinctures. This is a plant you will want growing all over your property.

I will be bringing root cuttings to the Bonham Bonham TX Farmers Market this Saturday. Come pick some up so you can start growing and harvesting this fantastic plant yourself. Cuttings are easy to propagate. Dig a slit in the ground down an inch or two and lay the cutting horizontally. Water it in if your soil is dry. ;)

Welcome Tina! On a June 4th Tina joined Mulberry Gardens Farm! She is a 6 year old A2A2 Jersey. She is getting used to our routines and bonding well with our herd. Plans are for her to have a belfair calf next year!

We do have herd shares available, so let me know if you have interest in that.

Teeny tiny new little one. This mama was young, but did great on her own. Now to fatten that little heifer calf up. :) This is the 3rd generation of heifers born here, making our cow Butter a great grandma. That sure felt like it happened fast! And with all the crosses we are doing in that line, I am going to have to work on my math skills. ;)
