This picture shows it all. We only had one more Boston Butt left from our farm's pigs this year at Christmas time. Our family tradition every year at Christmas is to smoke some barbecue, so we unfortunately had to go buy a Boston Butt from the grocery store so we would have 2. You can clearly see the difference side by side. The larger one is our farm raised pork. It's a deeper, darker red and has good marbling throughout. You can see the grocery store Butt is pale and has much less marbling. You could taste the difference too! We are planning on having some more pork available in summer or fall of 2026 if you're interested. We would love to put quality, natural, food on your family's table.

We have a whole hog available, ready for butcher. Message us if you are interested. This is natural, forest raised pork.

If you are interested in pork let us know. We still have quite a bit available but it is going fast. We also still have whole and half shares available as well.

Update: We are out of breakfast sausage.
It took much longer than expected but we officially have pork available for sale. We received our permit from the Tennessee Dept of Agriculture and all of the retail cuts are USDA inspected. This isn't grocery store pork. This is high quality, natural, forest raised pork. They roam around the woods and get to live as pigs ought to. We have a fencing system where we rotate them around our land. Our prices for the retail cuts are:
1 lb pack of thick cut bacon: $10
Pack of Jowl Bacon: $5
2lb pack of thick cut pork chops: $12
1lb pack of Brats: $5 (available in regular, Italian, and hot Italian)
Tenderloin: $10/lb
1 lb pack of Breakfast Sausage: $5
Baby Back Ribs:$6/lb
Spare Ribs:$6/lb
Picnic Roast: $4/lb
Boston Butt: $5/lb
Ham Roast (uncured): $4/lb
We also have pork fat available for $1/lb.
Feel free to message us if you are interested in any of these cuts or if you are interested in a hole or half hog share. I'll be happy to walk you through how that works. Thanks everybody. Feel free to share.

🐷 As we load two of our hogs to carry to the butcher today, I want to reflect on why we do what we do.

This post is both a big picture look at our farm’s heart and purpose—and, if you care to keep reading, a deeper dive into the calling behind it all.

āø»

🌲 First, here are just a few highlights of why forest-raised pork is better—for you and for the pigs:

šŸ– For the Pigs:
1. Room to Roam – Our pigs explore wooded acres, not cramped concrete pens.
2. Natural Diet – They root for acorns, bugs, and plants—just like God intended.
3. Freedom from Stress – No cages. No artificial lights. Just sunshine, mud, and puddles.
4. No Routine Antibiotics – Healthy pigs raised right don’t need daily meds.
5. Ethical Life, Humane Harvest – They live as pigs should—and we honor their lives with respect from start to finish.

šŸ½ļø For You:
1. Incredible Flavor – Slow-grown pork, rich marbling, deep, real taste.
2. Healthier Fat – Forest diets = more omega-3s, less unhealthy fat.
3. No Mystery Ingredients – No growth hormones. Just clean, real meat.
4. Know Your Farmer – This pork didn’t come from a warehouse—it came from our woods to your table.
5. Better for the Planet – Our pigs help regenerate soil, not pollute it.

āø»

šŸŒ A Bigger Picture:

As a society, we’re learning through rising disease and pollution that industrial farming is not sustainable.
The future of food doesn’t lie in mass production—it lies in small, local farms that care for the land, the animals, and the people they feed.

āø»

✨ A Deeper Calling:

Why go the slower, more effortful, and yes—more costly—route?
Because we believe in the inherent value of the lives of our pigs.

They are not a product tagged with a price for our gain.
They are living beings—worthy of a good life and an honorable end.
We respect what their lives ultimately provide for our family and yours.

āø»

šŸ“– What We Believe (Backed by Scripture):

🟔 God gave us dominion—but with purpose.

ā€œThen God said, ā€˜Let us make mankind in our image… so that they may rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, and all the wild animalsā€¦ā€™ā€
— Genesis 1:26–28
āž”ļø Dominion is not about domination. It’s about stewardship.

ā€œYou made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herdsā€¦ā€
— Psalm 8:6–8
āž”ļø We are caretakers of what God has created.

🟔 We are called to care well.

ā€œThe righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.ā€
— Proverbs 12:10
āž”ļø Godly people are kind and attentive to their animals’ well-being.

ā€œThe Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.ā€
— Genesis 2:15
āž”ļø From the beginning, we were called to tend and protect—not exploit.

We successfully seperated out our feeder pigs from our females, and are acquainting them with the trailer. This way, we can soon load them up and transport them. WOW is our ā€œbig ol’ boy ā€œ stubborn! He’s the biggest and least trusting. It took us 2 days, the whole family, and chips O’Hoy to lure him to the separate paddock and near the trailer. What an experience; we are learning so much and having so much fun, and laughs, and MUD along the way. We have 2 hogs going to the butcher on Monday
, and are thrilled to announce that we will be certified USDA to sell retail cuts!! That means we’ll have packs of bacon, hams, and many other cuts for sale by the package for your convenience. Great quality, Forrest raised pork.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the men and woman who gave their lives in service to our country. Today we pause, may their sacrifice never be forgotten.
Thank you from our family.

SUNDAY SNOUT-LIGHT: The Solo Spot! Or, as our kids call him, ā€œRoscoe pig,ā€ because he looks and behaves very similarly to our family dog, Roscoe. Excuse the old picture, but he has been loving his mud baths lately, and I wanted to showcase his beautiful markings. He is actually our only Gloucestershire Old Spot in the group. He is our smallest, and that’s okay. Old Spots take longer to finish, but develop deeper flavor and better marbling. He will produce premium-quality, chef-grade meat. Fun Fact: Old Spots were once called ā€œorchard pigsā€ because they were known for eating fallen fruits off trees. His floppy ears are a family favorite on the farm.
