š· As we load two of our hogs to carry to the butcher today, I want to reflect on why we do what we do.
This post is both a big picture look at our farmās heart and purposeāand, if you care to keep reading, a deeper dive into the calling behind it all.

š² First, here are just a few highlights of why forest-raised pork is betterāfor you and for the pigs:
š For the Pigs:
1. Room to Roam ā Our pigs explore wooded acres, not cramped concrete pens.
2. Natural Diet ā They root for acorns, bugs, and plantsājust like God intended.
3. Freedom from Stress ā No cages. No artificial lights. Just sunshine, mud, and puddles.
4. No Routine Antibiotics ā Healthy pigs raised right donāt need daily meds.
5. Ethical Life, Humane Harvest ā They live as pigs shouldāand we honor their lives with respect from start to finish.
š½ļø For You:
1. Incredible Flavor ā Slow-grown pork, rich marbling, deep, real taste.
2. Healthier Fat ā Forest diets = more omega-3s, less unhealthy fat.
3. No Mystery Ingredients ā No growth hormones. Just clean, real meat.
4. Know Your Farmer ā This pork didnāt come from a warehouseāit came from our woods to your table.
5. Better for the Planet ā Our pigs help regenerate soil, not pollute it.

š A Bigger Picture:
As a society, weāre learning through rising disease and pollution that industrial farming is not sustainable.
The future of food doesnāt lie in mass productionāit lies in small, local farms that care for the land, the animals, and the people they feed.

⨠A Deeper Calling:
Why go the slower, more effortful, and yesāmore costlyāroute?
Because we believe in the inherent value of the lives of our pigs.
They are not a product tagged with a price for our gain.
They are living beingsāworthy of a good life and an honorable end.
We respect what their lives ultimately provide for our family and yours.

š What We Believe (Backed by Scripture):
š” God gave us dominionābut with purpose.
āThen God said, āLet us make mankind in our image⦠so that they may rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, and all the wild animalsā¦āā
ā Genesis 1:26ā28
ā”ļø Dominion is not about domination. Itās about stewardship.
āYou made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herdsā¦ā
ā Psalm 8:6ā8
ā”ļø We are caretakers of what God has created.
š” We are called to care well.
āThe righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.ā
ā Proverbs 12:10
ā”ļø Godly people are kind and attentive to their animalsā well-being.
āThe Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.ā
ā Genesis 2:15
ā”ļø From the beginning, we were called to tend and protectānot exploit.
