The strawberries are trying to show me who's boss... and I can't say I mind! 😜🍓

What started as a few plants in an adorable 3-tiered strawberry planter has now turned into a legit patch that wants to take over the garden. I am keeping it somewhat in check, but when I see little red strawberries beginning to peek through, I can't resist letting them wander.🍓😋

We're hiring! ✨️

We are currently looking to fill a part-time position (possibly two) for the VRF farm store and lavender field. The position we are looking to fill requires two main things:

1) Occasional coverage in the VRF retail farm store, especially during events ✨️
2) Assisting with weeding and pruning the lavender field. Although this is a low-impact job, it can be physically demanding 💪

If you think you may be the right one for one or both of these jobs, please reach out to us. Ideally we would like to hire an individual who can accomplish both- occasional retail store coverage and farm work- but we are certainly open to those who would prefer one over the other. Thank you! 💜

Air plant restock! 🌱✨️

We've officially restocked some of your favorite air plants as well as adding some beautiful new varieties, and we couldn't be more excited to fill our table again with these fun, sculptural little plants (as well as some unique stands!).

It's easy to see why they've become such a hit at VRF- air plants are low maintenance, endlessly unique, and add so much natural beauty to any space. No soil needed- just a little light, occasional watering, and they're happy. Tuck them into a favorite dish, terrarium, shelf or sunny book and let them do their thing. 🌿

If you've been waiting for a restock, how's the time. These little beauties never stay long ✨️

Calling all herbalists and aspiring herbalists! 🌱

For many years, I have wandered endless yards, hiked through countless woods and meadows, and now have begun to thoroughly explore our own farm. I always loved being surrounded by nature. 🌱 But something has always nagged at me: all of these plants growing around us- that nature has placed there- are here for a reason, it is not by mistake. These plants are here to HELP us. And I want to dig in deeper. 😎

Being a certified aromatherapist, I have seen and experienced the power of essential oils- and it is profound. I now want to explore the power of plants through herbalism. I have begun expressing this to some of you, and it is so awesome to see that there are many of you out there like me! You also want to understand what these alleged 'weeds' growing in our back yards really are and how they are here to potentially help us.

I honestly don't know where I'm going with this- yet- but I am looking for some like-minded people- certified herbalists, herbalists through their own knowledge, aspiring herbalists, or simply those who have an interest in getting to know and understand all of the beautiful FREE plants growing around us- and how we can put them to good use in our daily lives. Does this interest you? If so, comment below, reach out to me, and let's see if we can build something amazing together. 💜🌱

It's time for hardening off seedlings 🌱
As the weather grows warmer, we are all beyond eager to get our plant seedlings into the garden. But there is an important step you don't want to miss, as this sets your little plants up for success: hardening off.

Hardening off is the essential process of gradually acclimating seedlings grown indoors to harsher outdoor conditions, preventing sunburn and transplant shock, and toughening them up to adjust to fluctuating temperature and wind. This process should take at least 7-10 days before planting. Start by placing them in the shade for a couple of hours for the first couple of days, then start increasing sunlight exposure by 1-2 hours each day. When temps are above 50°, you can then start leaving them out at night. Make sure your little plants are protected from strong winds. Your seedlings will thank you! 💜💚

If we've learned one thing owning a business, it is that sometimes you need to quickly pivot, whether you want to or not. 🫤

Although we are licensed to sell CBD (and it has been legal for years), we were recently alerted by Shopify (who hosts our payments and POS for the farm store) that due to banking regulations, if we continue to sell CBD products using their payment processing system, they would discontinue allowing us to use Shopify payments for the farm store. Whoa. That was a lot for us to swallow at once.

We had to make a move very quickly, and decided that until banking regulations ease up, we would move our CBD products to the dispensary, where we will no longer confront this issue.

For those of you who used to purchase our CBD products online, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. ✨️

On April 26th, 24 amazing people gathered in our barn for our 2nd creative event- Craft + Puff: Mosaics. ✨️ It was a blast! 🤩 We had some repeat attendees from our first event (thank you!), as well as many friendly new faces at this 420-friendly craft event.

What was the most fun- besides the laughs, community fun, yummy snacks and and great times- was the creativity and talent that came from a group of people who- for the most part- had never done mosaic crafting before! You did amazing and the completed flower pots were absolutely beautiful. 💜💙🩷💚

Did you miss this event and wish to go to a future VRF craft event? Stay tuned as we announce more! Many thanks to those who attended- we appreciate you so much! And a special shout-out to for providing us with some amazing sweet sourdough treats for the event attendees. It was all such a blast and we can't wait for the next event! 🙌
