A Tribute to My Dear Friend Dorothy.
Over the more than ten years I cooked for her as her personal chef, she became so much more than just a client to me. She was a confidante, a mentor, and like a mother figure. I could spend hours at her house, talking about everything and nothing, knowing that she would listen with the patience and wisdom that only she had. She went through so many difficult times, yet she always made time for me, offering support during my darkest moments—times when I didn’t think I could keep going. She was always there for me, a steady presence when I needed it the most, and for that, I will forever be grateful.
One of my fondest memories with her is the time we went to the ballet in San Francisco. She was so incredibly happy that day, and seeing the joy on her face is a memory I will treasure forever. She loved purple flowers, and that love of beauty, of finding joy in small things, was something she carried with her in everything she did. Her smile when I arrived at her house was a special moment for me every single time. The warmth and happiness she showed when I walked through the door are moments I will miss deeply.
She was a guiding light in my life, and I will miss her more than words can express. But I find comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the memories we shared and the countless lives she touched.
