Something Refreshing is Coming to The Faded Apron

We are so excited to officially introduce, The Glass Pitcher by The Faded Apron.

The Glass Pitcher is the refreshment side of The Faded Apron focused on fresh lemonades, herbal teas, fruit-infused waters, seasonal refreshments, and handcrafted summer favorites with the same rustic farmhouse feel you already know and love.

This has been such a fun project for our family, and we cannot wait to share it with all of you at local markets, community events, and special gatherings.

Gather leaves, rocks, sticks, whatever natural material you have around. Place sticks, branches, and rocks all along the border, filling in as many gaps as possible. Then cover the rest heavily with old leaves, straw, or brush.

It may not look pretty, but it works. Predators and digging prey hate layered, unstable barriers because they can’t get a clean spot to dig through. Plus, the leaves and debris help hide weak points along the fence line naturally.

Honestly, this has become one of my favorite low-cost homestead tricks!

These loaves are made from active sourdough starter with a slow ferment for incredible flavor, softness, and that homemade texture you just can’t get from store bread.

Each loaf is, soft,perfect for sandwiches & toast made completely from scratch, long fermented with no commercial yeast.

Y’all… I think Wrangler just gave himself a job!

This boy will go out, gently pick up an egg…carry it ALL the way back, and hand deliver it like he’s on payroll!

No training. No one showed him.
He just decided,“Yeah… I’m gonna help with this.”
Somehow,not a single egg cracked!

We’re officially at 10 babies out, fluffed up and dry… and a whole bunch more getting ready to make their entrance!

If you’ve ever hatched chicks, you already know…
this is the part where you don’t leave the incubator alone for even a second. 😅

Here’s something super important a lot of people don’t realize!

Humidity can make or break a hatch.
Once chicks start pipping and hatching.

• Humidity needs to stay HIGH (usually around 65–75%)
• If it drops too low, the membrane dries out
• That can cause chicks to get “shrink wrapped” and stuck
• Even strong chicks can fail to hatch if conditions aren’t right

That’s why opening the incubator too often during hatch can actually hurt more than help.

We’re in full “watch but don’t touch unless necessary” mode over here 👀

Hatch days are equal parts exciting, stressful, and straight-up magical. There is nothing like watching new life break through.

Anyone else currently glued to their incubator like it’s a full-time job? 😂
