Merry Christmas to everyone. Nancy wanted me to share some of our meager decorating efforts with our facebook followers. I hope all is well, and wish you all to have a wonderful and safe Christmas celebration. (the last one is my fav)
Life in the garden 🌼🌸
Such a beautiful day in the garden.
Look at these beautiful potatoes. Yummy; we also have carrots, Swiss chard, and red beets.
Call Nancy at 717-627-3397 if you want her to get some ready for you. We will be planting fall crops soon.
We are quite sympathetic to those farmers that are totally dependent upon the weather for their living.
We do have carrots, red beets, cabbage, kohlrabi, Swiss chard, kale, 3 kinds of beans, and a few spring onions. Plus, we just dug our first potatoes. Text Nancy with your order. If the heat continues, the garden cannot survive.
Summer heat has been yet another challenge for the garden. Nancy was able to pick these beans yesterday. We still have some spring onions, carrots, green and purple cabbage, Swiss chard, kale, and red beets, but please text Nancy to check availability and she will get your order ready. Unfortunately the heat has been oppressive for the chickens and egg production has slowed significantly.
This week we have green cabbage, purple cabbage, kale, Swiss chard, red beets, salad greens, (incl. lambs quarters) spring onions, rhubarb, and carrots, too. Pls TEXT Nancy at 717-627-3397 to pre order and she will have it ready for you to pick up. Have a safe and great July 4th celebration. Thanks to all vets..
Nancy just picked some beautiful cabbages, Swiss chard, Red beets, Kale, snow peas and hull peas. Call her at 717-627-3397 and she will have it ready for you to pick it up.
Thanks Lord for the rain.
This week we have Arugula, lettuce, spinach, red beets with beautiful greens, mustard greens, loveage, kale, chard, and spring onions.
Call Nancy at 717-627-3397 and she will get your order ready.
Available now in our little store; Lots of beautiful spinach, lettuce, asparagus, spring onions, and arugula. We also have rhubarb, some broccoli, and loveage (wonderful in soups) and apple mint.
Coming soon! Peas, cabbage, and then..
Strawberries – Please call Nancy at 717-627-3397 to pre order as they will go fast.
Store will be open 8:00 to 5:00 this week.
This weeks store update May 12, 2021. Today we have spinach, spring onions, romaine lettuce, arugula, rhubarb, and loveage. Nancy said the store is open but it works better if you text her your order (717-627-3397), and she will let you know when it is ready to pick up. Thanks.
Nancy has some spinach, Romaine lettuce, and a limited amount of fresh asparagus available. Give her a call to order. Lovely weather we are having isn’t it?
Here is what one of our guests posted about their stay at Frush Farm.. Thanks Bud Wilkinson.
A two-night stay at Frush Farm B&B in Reinholds, PA added to the enjoyment of attending the vintage motorcycle show in Oley over the weekend.
My baby cheeses are all grown up, and they are ready for adoption. I moved three of my aged, and very delicious, one pound cheddar cheese wheels in the store after their long winter nap. I also shredded a few wheels into smaller containers and placed them in the store freezer also.
Today, Nancy felt ambitious and made 19 jars of sour cherry jam, 17 jars of white peach jam, and 10 jars of blackberry jam. She also enlisted the help of a few “future gardeners” to plant four rows of potatoes. I need to sit down and have another piece of “farm to table” wineberry pie.
Nancy found this red salamander in our goat pasture. She wanted to keep it but I would have to build a special salamander house so I insisted she return it to the “wild” where it can be happy.
On another note, everyone is enjoying watching the baby goats play by the barn.
Today we took delivery of a very nice console piano for the Studio Apartment for our apartment guests to enjoy. We may even use it ourselves for a celebration post covid. We owe a quick shout out to https://www.stevespianos.com/ for their help.
This is me trying to make crop circles. I did the other garden also. Then Nancy let me rest a little yesterday afternoon. It might be easier to push if it didn’t have that heavy motor thingy on the front. Maybe I’ll try starting it next year.
We have been blessed with a set of triplets and a set of twins so far. The other three moms are still waiting. We cleaned all the stalls in the barn just in time for their arrival (so glad that is done for now). The cat in the nest is Harry, he has been sleeping through the whole thing.
It is now March, the snow is almost gone, and Spring is just around the corner. Baby goats are expected to arrive in another week or two. We will be doing the Spring cleaning in the barn next week. The garden will be drying out enough to run the “roto-killer” again so Nancy can plant her “magic beans” by St. Patties day.
For B&B guests, we are open! The Studio Apartment is completely booked the entire month of April. We have begun to relax restrictions on the guest rooms in the house. If you are interested in coming soon, please call now to schedule. All-in-all it is beginning to get back to whatever will be the “normal” for 2021. I plan on posting updated information and events here on facebook as March unfolds.
Nancy has redesigned our website www.frushfarm.com and it looks great with lots of pics and good info, please take a look.
