MOWING AND FERTLILIZING
When can you mow that beautiful green new sod, you ask?
The rule of thumb is 2-4 weeks. That is the point when your new sod will be well rooted and can handle light traffic without shifting or uprooting. Just be sure the ground isn’t too wet and soft to be able to handle the traffic. You can water less towards the end of the 2-3 weeks to allow the ground to dry. It can also be better to mow with a push mower and not a zero-turn as they can tear the sod if they spin. Be sure to cut off no more than 1/3 of the total plant height. Mowing more can turn your grass yellow and create too many clippings.

Do you need to fertilize?
Usually a starter is recommended to help supply nutrients and food as it grows and establishes into its new surroundings. If you haven’t taken soil samples (recommended practice) to see what your lawn needs, use a basic starter. Only use the fertilizer in the fancy picture bags from your local garden center. They are bit more expensive than the generic AG grade 10-10-10, but they have additives to be consumer and environmentally friendly. These features safeguard against over fertilizing and to prevent damage.

Good afternoon friends and homeowners we just wanted to give a friendly reminder that we are still open for business. Our prices per roll are $5 each if you plan to get less than 34 rolls. Any orders more than 35 rolls we charge $3 per roll. We also charge $190 per pallet which covers 74 square yards or 666 square feet. You can do pick up at our location and our pick up hours are from as early as 7:30 AM to as late as 6 PM. We also do delivery but for delivery we do require a minimum order of 10 pallets and our delivery fee does start at $400. This price may increase with a further distance location. Ghostly greetings 👻 friends we hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! We recently heard some concerns that homeowners have. “Would foot 🦶🏽 traffic damage my lawn on Halloween night?” As long as your lawn is not very wet the night of trick-or-treating then no harm should be done to your lawn. Although, one night or two should be suitable for your lawn we understand that some homeowners may not want foot traffic on their lawn. So we recommend a well lit sidewalk/path for those who prefer visitors to not use their lawn. We hope this can bring you some ease for the weekend and we are WITCHING 🧙‍♀️you the happiest Halloween ever!!🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻🎃🎃

Good morning friends, we hope you are staying warm as the temperature begins to drop. Here at Re*****on Turf farms we recommend you get one final mow before the temperature gets too low. One final mow can be beneficial because you’re ensuring that any debris will be picked up from your lawn. This also, eliminates some pest and prevents further invasion thus keeping your grass short, neat, and clean for the fall. Good afternoon friends and homeowners. 👋 We would like to share the importance of fertilizing your lawn during the fall.
When you fertilize throughout the fall this will allow your grass to regenerate roots that may have died after cutting it. We recommend fertilizing your lawn 3 times throughout the season. One fertilize session in September, October and November will give your grass plenty of help to regenerate new roots for the spring time. When choosing a fertilizer we recommend a 10,10,10 based formula fertilizer. This is a fertilizer that contains 10% Nitrogen, 10% Phosphate and 10% Potash. We hope with this helpful tip your lawn will continue to be a welcoming feature to your home.
