A farmers worst nightmare! Few weekends ago, I moved some cows to a pasture that hasn’t had cows in it this year yet (talk about a blessing because now our cows can stay out till normal timing) and this pasture is along a much more residential area then any other pasture I have. I picked up this grass last year and have said from the beginning “it would be my worst nightmare to have these cows get out amongst all these houses”

It happened! And the neighbors were the best! They were kind, helpful and and under standing! I owe them a brisket yet! Check out the video of some cows in their back yard🤦‍♀️😳🤦‍♀️😳

Thank you lord for not letting their lawns be all wet and soggy on this day 🙏 and it wasn’t that stressful because the cows cooperated🙌

I agree that US Beef is the best. I work hard to raise it, just like so many of my friends, family and customers in my day job.

I started Feast Local to bridge a gap between consumer and farmer.

This post from over the weekend made me laugh. It’s true. I could argue it’s not a premium, it’s just the cost of what it takes produce. Many farmers and ranchers that process beef and sell it, can’t capitalize on the efficiency and export markets that the Big 4 packers can. I would argue the general beef consumer has no idea what it takes to raise ground beef or a steak, and I have a special appreciation for those that ask questions!

After even more news coverage, who has questions? What would you like me to answer? What would you like me to show you?

If you are a general consumer of beef, I’d guess the “beef” industry/news has been confusing lately. I’d encourage you to find a rancher/farmer/cattle guy to ask your questions too, so they can help you under stand what this all means.

I have waited the weekend to comment on Trumps latest orders. It’s pretty disheartening, really. Beef in the headlines of the news has been good for the most part; bringing light to the nutritional benefits/versatility of our products as it’s now on the top of the food pyramid, news anchors have covered the drought to an extent, it’s also covered the higher prices but also compared it to other products with a price increase that have almost zero nutritional value. The last two were zingers; the announcement of opening the Mexican cattle border back up (which officially is supposed to be tomorrow) and as of Friday to import beef to lower prices of beef.

I can assure you that US beef producers are not sleeping in boatloads of money because of these elevated prices. There’s so many parts of the equation; cowherd inventory, on going drought, land prices, equipment prices, avg age of the actual producer, lack of access to grass/pasture, interest rates, the fact that it takes a steer nearly 2.5 years from conception to being on a plate (it’s a forward. planning deal) , the list can go on and will vary on the producer. I can promise you that US beef is the best beef, again, for so many reasons💪

I love raising cattle. Checking pastures and driving through feedlots are favorite pastimes. I’ve secretly been enjoying the comments on the popular MN news stations that dropped the import beef deal, consumers get it, they were just as frustrated as us producers. My goal of FL has always been able to be a resource for the consumer because I believe in it so much and to also provide a positive BEEF eating experience for the consumer. I tried to keep this short, I could go on for a very long time on so many points, but I encourage you, as a consumer to ask any questions you have, either I can help or point you in a direction that can, please continue to and to

🥩What questions do you have about the beef industry?
