Busy weekend around here. Notched a few brew days and made great progress on the sound and thermal insulation project for Monty.

At its core, our beloved tap truck isn’t much more than a metal box on wheels (sorry Monty, I still love you). It lacks the sound deadening properties of most modern vehicles, thus, drives are super noisy and rattley. It’s not Monty’s fault; he was built for utility.

Hopeful that the thermal insulation also helps to keep the interior over the cooler also helps keep some of the high temperatures we’ve been experiencing this Summer at bay.

I should wrap this up this week and am looking forward to maybe a little bit less rattling when driving about town.

I feel that I am making the most of the small, but mighty, brewhouse space. It’s definitely feeling like a full house in here and in another 2 hours or so, I’ll be squeezing another fermentor in here.

Today I’m brewing a pilot recipe, a Blueberry Wheat, on the smaller unit. This was a special request for a client - a beer that, up until very recently, I had never actually tasted before. I’ve done Strawberry Wheat before so this can’t be too much different, right?

Also in progress here: 12 gallons of Hazy Pale Ale, 18 gallons of Oktoberfest, and 30 gallons of Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout.

All set up and ready to rock at tonight’s seasonal opening of the The Hanover Market CSA. We’re here until 7pm along with some fine food trucks, and lots of other makers.

Got a good, thirst-quenching menu happening today.

A few scenes from last night’s epic Quicksand show at the 9:30 Club in DC. I’m so glad I finally got to see these guys live, and in the front row! Not only did they sound great, they looked like they having the time of their lives playing to the packed house. Extra points for Sergio Vega 🌌 for getting Sergio Vega 🌌personal with us. A moment I will treasure, for sure.

It’s a lovely evening for an outdoor tap takeover up here at Hanover Tavern Foundation. Pouring 3 classic Small Batch Brews and the public debut of Different Strings Cranberry, Ginger seltzer edition.

It’s late notice I know, but we’ll be here at least until 8.

It’s been a pretty crazy week around here so I’m a little late in sharing this….

On Monday evening, I had the honor of joining the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild annual medal winners, staff and other industry professionals at the Governor’s Mansion for a celebration recognizing .

Governor Abigail Spanberger was gracious enough to give me a few minutes of her time which I used to share some photos of Monty, talk about what I’ve been up and take a few photos.

What a night!!! Cheers to and all of the folks that make our community so special!
