We’re often asked what we feed our flock here at Green Acres Family Farm, so we thought we’d share! Proper nutrition is one of the most important foundations for healthy chickens, strong eggshells, and overall flock health.

We love everything Kalmbach Feeds, Inc.!!

Here’s what we currently feed our Kikiriki flock:

🩷 Kalmbach Henhouse Reserve – Love Bug Edition
This is one of our favorite feeds because it’s a premium, nutrient-dense feed that supports overall flock health. It contains probiotics, prebiotics, and essential oils, which help support digestion, immune health, and feather condition. It also helps maintain good egg production and strong eggshell quality.

🩷 Kalmbach 20% Flock Maker Crumbles
We love this feed because it’s great for mixed flocks and provides a higher protein level that helps support muscle development, feather quality, and overall body condition. The added vitamins and minerals help keep our birds healthy and thriving.

🩷 Kalmbach Poultry Grit
Grit is extremely important for chickens because they don’t have teeth. Chickens store grit in their gizzard, where it helps grind up food like grains, bugs, and treats so it can be properly digested. Without grit, chickens can have difficulty breaking down certain foods.

At the end of the day, healthy chickens start with quality nutrition, clean water, and proper care. Feeding a balanced diet helps keep our flock happy, active, and productive.
