Our new hens are laying and we are getting some beautiful eggs.😍 Blues, greens, and tanish/light brown.

Our older hens are in their first molting season. So we are not getting many from them right now, but that's okay.

Can definitely see the size difference from the older hen's eggs to the new hen's eggs. What a size difference. 🤩

This thing is huge!
We are going to make stalls big enough for these boys and a tack room / wash area so everything is easy access.

Right now it's just a nice shaded area that helps keep them from getting rained on...... That they don't go under 😅 horses 🤦🏼‍♀️

Mufasa is now a yard rooster. He's just a bit too rough with the ladies and has bucked up to us a few times. He's doing okay as a yard rooster for now.

Having an issue with weeds unfortunately and we lost a couple of our squash plants to bugs....

But!
tomatos, cucumber, beans, peas, peppers, herbs, etc are all doing really well.

Well, it finally happened. The part of the chicken journey that noone ever wants to come across.
We had our first chicken die on us. 😥

It was one of our newer hens only about 14 weeks old.
Not really sure what happened to her. We found her on the floor in the corner of the chicken coop last night.

There is also a second one (pictured) that I had to pull out this morning. She's lethargic, was getting attacked by the other chickens, has liquid pouring out of her mouth when you pick her up, and a swollen balloon feeling crop.

Syringe feeding some ACV and gonna get her on probiotics. She is isolated and resting. Fingers crossed she pulls through.

Everyone else is acting fine and not showing any signs of disease or stress.
