BUY AMERICAN BEEF 🇺🇸
There is a lot happening in the beef industry right now.
Tyson is closing its Joslin, Illinois beef processing plant, eliminating significant processing capacity here in the Midwest. At the same time, the U.S. is reopening the border to live cattle from Mexico, while the administration has announced plans to temporarily allow up to 660 million pounds of additional imported ground beef tariff-free.
For small American cattle producers, these decisions matter.
It takes roughly 30 months or more from conception to processing to produce the beef on your table. Small producers also rely on local, independent processors, where processing dates often need to be scheduled months in advance.
You can’t rebuild the American cattle supply overnight. Short-term imports may affect prices today, but a strong domestic beef supply depends on supporting the farmers, cattle and processors we’ll need years from now.
Know where your beef is coming from. Support American farmers. Support local processors. Buy American beef. 🇺🇸
