Getting Ready to Put Your Home on the Market? Preparation is the Key to Sellers’ Success
A pre-listing home inspection is a smart choice for sellers looking to get more insight about the condition of their home. To avoid any unnecessary conflicts, a pre-listing inspection gives sellers knowledge necessary to price the house accurately and address any issues ahead of putting it on the market. When you are aware of your house’s condition, you will be more confident in the house you are selling.
Ensure There Are No Substantial Issues
As the seller, your goal is to impress the buyer. Any issues concerning the roof, foundation, furnace or unwanted pests can stop an interested buyer in their tracks. Double checking the condition of these features before you put your house on the market is advised. There are many routes you can go once you learn this information.
• Get the issue fixed before listing the house
• Negotiate prices and propose deals in response to the issue
• Sell “as is” for a very low cost but no promise to fix the issues
Pay Attention to the Minor Details
Make sure your house looks attractive during the inspection. From the lawn to the roof, have a welcoming curb appeal. Inside the house, consider applying fresh coats of paint, re-caulking around sinks and showers, taking care of minor leaks and covering electrical outlets properly.
Think Ahead and Hire Your Own Inspector
To avoid potential issues, hire a professional to conduct a thorough home inspection of your property. Though this costs more money, you will save time in repairs. By hiring a home inspector, you have control over who fixes any issues. If a buyer’s inspector finds an issue, it may put the sale at risk. An inspector will help speed up the sales process as you tend to problems before the home is put on the market.
Hiring a home inspector for a pre-listing inspection is a great way to prepare yourself when you are selling your home.
