We are saddened by the loss of one of our stallions, Sunday Peanut Brittle. Thank you Kelly Berkau for letting Peanut be part of our farm. He was a favorite with ALL the children!! He loved their attention and getting treats from them. You would hardly know he was a stallion when you handled him, he was so gentle and mannerly. He produced many a beautiful tri-colored paints for the farm over the last 8 years. Always had a warn nicker for you when you entered the barn. Rest easy my boy!!!😔

Over our 23 years at The Double R Farm, members of our farm family have come and gone but this last month has been been the hardest. We know this is not goodbye, our friendship will carry on, but not getting to see the three of you everyday is going to get some getting used to..... Congratulations Cathy & Andy on your new farmette, we wish you only the best on your new venture. We miss seeing Snickers out the kitchen window, she was the spunkest one in that field!!! Stephanie, today was a difficult day but Charlie is going to a home with great people who will love him and cherish him!!! I remember the day Charlie was born, the bond you built with him is truly unique, you are an amazing horsewomen. When you are ready, your next project is on the field. Stephanie, Cathy & Andy, thank you for all you have done over the years for Rusty and I, our girls, grandbabies and our farm. WE LOVE YOU!!!!

I read this today: 100 years ago, most people rode horses and only the rich had cars. Now everyone has a car and you have to be rich to own a horse. Nope....... Most horse owners today are horse poor but rich in the experience of the horse.
