Want a lovely Sunday brunch, located on a
Picturesque 5,000 acre reserve with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains ? Then Mount Ida is your destination!

Mount Ida Tasting Room and Vineyard is located in Charlottesville, Virginia . The tasting room officially opened in 2018.

Sunday Brunch was offered; This initially motivated my husband and I to visit. (It is recommended to make reservations before coming.)
I appreciated that gluten free accommodations for brunch were available. The French toast was a great treat !

Wine tastings were in flight form. I tried the “medal winner” flight.

My favorite of the day :

2021 Mount Pleasant Petit Manseng (35.50 a bottle )

This wine, a somewhat drier white, had hints of vanilla and spice to the nose. Essence of ripe fruit such as mango and apricot rounded out this wine to make it quite pleasing to the palate.

The surrounding areas of this venue were breathtaking and made for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I can’t wait to visit again and try even more wines.

I had never heard of a white Cabernet Franc wine. How could this actually exist ?! This is what led my family & I to visit Wisdom Oak Vineyard in North Garden, Virginia. This wine truly intrigued me. I had to try it….

Cab Franc is typically a red wine grape 🍇. To make a white Cabernet Franc, a Vintner would remove the grape skins, therefore turning out a white wine. Since there is no skin contact during processing , the color of the wine is clear. It has floral notes and a light texture. It is an easy drinking wine. This wine does not have tannins, which is good for any wine enthusiast that has sensitivities…. I definitely recommend ✅.
