Last day of my poultry presentation for kids at Great River library branches. I'll be in Becker at 1, Big Lake at 3, and Elk River at 5. We had a huge turnout at the St. Michael library yesterday morning. That was crazy but all the quail chicks the kids have been holding are still doing great!

Business is slowing down so time to unload some adult quail. I have a jumbo brown breeding group (4 hens and 1 rooster) available for sale. These are 7 months old and the hens are laying daily. If you don't want the rooster, no problem. These are true jumbos laying very good size quail eggs. Please message me if you're interested. Thanks!

In the 1980's and 90's, Dr. Fred Thornberry at Texas A&M University developed a line of white coturnix quail for meat production that were bigger than other coturnix quail available at the time. Jumbo white coturnix quail are still commonly referred to as Texas A&M even though that breeding program ended long ago and the genetics have been diluted over time. ANYWAY, that was a very long winded way to say: Check out this four week old jumbo white quail I have with a big ol' T on its forehead!

The kids and teachers at Children’s Country School did a great job taking care of all the quail chicks they hatched. I was especially impressed that they named them all! This sign was very cute.

Our classrooms are full of tiny miracles right now 🐣

Each class has been watching their own set of quail eggs hatch, and it has been such a sweet, hands-on way to experience new life. The excitement, the wonder, the waiting… and then seeing those little chicks finally emerge—it’s been something special.

Moments like these remind us of God’s beautiful creation and the gift of new beginnings.

Broad breasted white turkey poult and jumbo brown coturnix quail chick. Both hatched yesterday. Don’t worry, they’ve got separate brooders. 😏
