Wow Mr winter does not want to let go at all this year. The girls are doing well and are inside their nice warm coops. They are laying well daily. They are looking forward to some fresh green grass the same as us. Have a great weekend and look forward to seeing you all this spring.

We have not had honey in the store recently as it is way too cold. If you would like honey please just message me or text me at 616-430-3321. We do have some left from last season. We did all we could to insulate and feed the bee hives to help them make it through this winter. Many prayers have been sent for them to be safe. We will know soon.

Happy February, It looks like the weather may be taking some mercy on us the next few days. I must admit this has been a rough winter. The hens have all done well and all the preparation and hard work has paid off. Our new girls are laying great and we have plenty of eggs daily and are not running out like we were a few months ago. Soon the girls will all be moved out to the orchard and I cant wait. They love it and have so much fun out there. We will be raising some really fun designer breeds to have out front and will hopefully finish the chicken sky bridge this spring. Thank you for all your support over this tough winter. Almost through it.

The new hens are starting to lay eggs! We have waited patiently and thought it would be a little sooner, but our new ladies are finally laying. We are thrilled and know this will help us keep up more very soon! Appreciate your patience on the days we have sold out. Never in our wildest dreams would we think we would have this many chickens and sell this many eggs! Thank you! What a journey it has been and continues to be!

Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone. The new hens should be laying in the next week or so. They have not started laying yet. The eggs will be smaller the first few weeks so we will still put them out for sale at a discounted rate. We are doing our best to keep up with the demand. I apologize if you have stopped by and we were sold out. We have not lost any production yet just have been that busy. We are doing our best to keep up and put eggs out as the chickens lay them. In the spring we will be increasing the flock in the pasture in the new building to 800. We will add some fancy designer breeds to the front for fun. Thank you for all your support and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Meet Midnight. Right now we would call her our craziest chicken on the farm. Some of you may have already met her as she flies out of the fenced area every day, heads over to our tiny store, hops up on a shelf, lays a green egg, and then leaves to fly back into the fenced area. She is real so don’t be fooled if you see her as she remains quiet still until someone approaches her.

She won’t hurt anyone but she will startle you if you approach her. Life at the farm never gives us a dull moment! Life is good!😊

Update on spring plans. We will be adding a commercial movable pastured chicken house in the spring. This will give us the ability to grow our flock and have plenty of eggs for all who want them. We will have all our layers in the orchard on pasture. We will then be adding 50 or so designer chickens to the front chicken coop. That is going to be so much fun and they will be by the store for everyone to see and interact with. On another subject as we have been asked this several times we do not cull our hens when they stop laying or sell them for butchering. We let them live out their lives naturally. Everyone does things differently. Some of our girls are really old in chickens years but they are still happy and they show the new hens the ropes. It is a blessing to have so much life around us everyday. All of our girls have served us very well and are part of the family. It is sad to see them pass away as they age but they lived a wonderful life with no worry for food, water, or safety. We have been blessed with this gift of the ability to have this farm and it is just our way to care for all the animals until God decides it is time. Thank you for all your support and giving us the ability to continue to grow.

Good morning. Our fall update has a lot going on. Our Pastured hens in the orchard are doing wonderful. Egg sales have been consistently increasing and we have been keeping up but are close to selling out. We have 108 new hens that are 13 weeks old and will start laying in the next 3-4 weeks so we should be in a good position to not sell out over the winter. What a blessing that all of our chicks made it and are healthy and very playful. The bees did wonderful this year and we have plenty of honey to get us to the spring. The hives are all insulated and prayers for their ability to make it through our tough winter. Thank you for all of your support. It has been such a blessing to be able to live our dream and get to meet so many great people.

We want to thank you all for a great but short corn season for us. We have sold out of our sweet corn for this year. The goal for next year will be to extend the corn field and get another acre planted. Pumpkins and squash are looking great and have already started to ripen. We will have some earlier than usual. Has been a different growing season for sure. Eggs are fully stocked and the hens are loving being out in the orchard. Have a great day.
