This past weekend we had a group of friends over for dinner. BBQ… a small fire.. so simple yet so filling for my soul.
A few years ago we decided to grow our farm. We heard a lot of questions like— “are you sure you want to do this?! It’s a lot of work..”
Initially those comments felt a bit discouraging but as I was reflecting this morning I began to think about our “why” behind our decision. Of course there was the obvious love for animals that I have always had, but it’s much deeper than that. We wanted to create a space where people can come and enjoy Gods handiwork. We wanted to provide food for our family that we felt confident in. We wanted to honor Gods creation in as many ways as we could.
So, here’s my question for you. What is your why? How does your why bring value to others lives? If we simply focus on what we can get out of the situation, burn out happens quickly and we no longer enjoy what we are doing..
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV
