The sweet edible chestnut keep raining down in Northern Michigan at North Star Chestnuts.

October 11th is family day and all the kids parents and grandparents are harvesting chestnuts today.

Thanks for all those who came out to the Open Chestnut Orchard event yesterday and there will be still a ton of chestnuts to get on Saturday October 17th at our next U-pick event.

If you can’t makes it in person, you can order your chestnuts online and we will ship them to you.

Both fruit and nuts at the open house today! We even found a few October peaches for those who get here first. Looking forward to seeing everyone from 12pm-6pm October 10th, 2026.

U-pick chestnuts and chestnut roasting is finally in Northern Michigan!

Tomorrow, Saturday October 10th, noon to 6pm!

At Ox Heights Farm and North Starts Chestnuts.

Follow the chestnut signs! Only 4 miles from Knaebes Apple Orchard and 2 miles from the Moltke Maize Maze.

We will also have maple syrup, grass fed lamb, hazelnuts, and our famous maple syrup glazed hazelnuts. You could even get a small chestnut tree.

Here’s the late September chestnut maturity update from North Star Chestnuts in Northern Michigan. Labor Day cultivar is starting to fall and we check on the colossal cultivar chestnut filling rate again.

A lot of chestnuts 🌰 will be raining down in about 10 days!
