Yesterday was our goat appraisal 🥳
First time ever for us. I learned so much about conformation, especially legs and proportions for that, rib cage, shoulder proportions. Really awesome to hear strengths and weaknesses in each goat. It gave me a lot to think about for breeding season.
So beyond grateful to RazPazazz Nubians for hosting this appraisal and encouraging me to go, they even had pens set up and ready to go for the goats to stay in while we waited❤️
We had 5 girls in milk for the appraisal and our scores were as follows:
Reston Ridge C_M Hershey (aka Endora) ⭐️✨🌹
90 VEEE (5 year old, 4th freshener)
Razpazazz Wingding Ariel 🫶✨💕
89 VEEV (4 year old, 4th freshener)
Udder Folks Farm Ivy 🌻🌻🌻
87 VVVG (6 year old, 6th freshener)
The Fairmeadow Firefly 🍀✨🍀
85 VVVV (3 year old, 2nd freshener)
Razpazazz Skittles Rock Candy 🍬🍭
85 VVVG (yearling first freshener)
Not too bad for a first year, I think. Her comments were that “you have a nice little starter herd! All really nice does.”
Some pictures of this years babies because they are so adorable 😍 I never want to take them for granted or get too focused on conformation and forget that God made them with unique personalities and they all need love and respect. (Except maybe the stinky bucks…..🤣 I can just appreciate the job they do from afar and I don’t think their looking for my kind of love lol 😂😂😂)
