Time for a Historic Preservation Post! Today, we would like to feature the First National Bank--Waudby Building in downtown Russell! The Waudby Building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. It is commonly known as Waudby No. 2 or Waudby and Co. Clothiers. It is located next to the Waudby Pool Hall, and both were built in a Victorian style with Italianate accents in 1885-1886. However, it was distinguished from its neighbor when it was constructed in cast iron and wood. While these buildings are separate, they have shared a common storefront that has been maintained and utilized for over 120 years! Today, this building houses local restaurant, Chet's Place at Waudby's.
