We are a woman owned and family operated small business. We specialize in raw honey, farm fresh produce, preserves and handcrafted beeswax products.

Ever noticed that comb honey can come in different shades?

From pale, almost white wax to deep golden and amber tones, comb honey can look surprisingly different from one harvest to the next. The color can be influenced by the flowers the bees visit, the age of the comb, and how the honey is stored.

And that beautiful variation is part of the charm of raw, natural honey….no two harvests are exactly alike and even a frame of honey next to another can be drastically different.

The flow is on!
It looks like the bees understood the assignment. We have some beautiful rainbow frames.

The Layers of the Rainbow:
A classic rainbow frame features these distinct, concentric sections moving from the center outward:

The Core (Eggs and Larvae): At the very center of the comb, you will typically find open cells containing the queen's eggs and newly hatched larvae.

The Brood (Pupa): Surrounding the core are capped brood cells. These cells are sealed with a velvety, light brown wax and contain developing baby bees (pupa).

The "Bee Bread" (Pollen): Encircling the brood is a colorful ring of pollen, often called bee bread. Because bees collect pollen from various flowers, this section usually shows vibrant shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown.

Energy Reserves (Honey): At the very top and outer edges of the frame, you will see bright, shiny capped honey and nectar. This is the food the bees intend to use for energy and winter survival.

Spotting a rainbow frame is the ultimate sign of a healthy, thriving hive. It indicates that your queen is laying well, the colony has plenty of diverse food resources, and the bees are successfully raising the next generation of workers.

🚨🥚 BIG NEWS FROM THE TURKEY DEPARTMENT 🦃🥚

After almost a YEAR of waiting, watching, wondering, and probably annoying the turkeys with daily egg checks, karaoke sessions and cuddles… IT FINALLY HAPPENED.

WE GOT OUR FIRST TURKEY EGGS!!!

At this point we were starting to think the girls were just freeloading, attending meetings, and collecting snacks without contributing to the egg economy. But today they finally clocked in and delivered!

There may or may not have been:
• Excited yelling
• A victory lap around the coop
• A dramatic announcement to the entire household
• And a suspicious amount of staring at the eggs like proud weirdos

To the turkeys: thank you for your service. Your efforts have been noted and we will absolutely continue bringing snacks.

Now the big question…
Do we hatch them… or make the world’s most dramatic breakfast? 🤔🍳

Spent an awesome day out in the apiaries with Mom to start our season off! 🐝💛

There’s just something special about cracking open hives together, listening to that steady, content hum, and seeing frames packed with healthy brood not in 100 degree heat.

We had a few surprises along the way because bees (and field mice) always like to keep things interesting 😅. I took a sting to the face….. and let me tell you, the first few stings of the season always hurt and swell the worst.

With the main bloom just around the corner at the orchards, these hives are ready to explode. Days like this remind me why we do what we do.

Grateful for healthy bees, spring buildup, and time spent with Mom. 💛🌼🐝
