About Us
Backroad Beekeeping founders Jace & Sara Becker were both born and raised in the Farm to Fork Capital, Sacramento, California, where they have been immersed into the world of honeybees for the past 9 years.
Jace's great grandfather began beekeeping in California back in 1919, with a few beehives and a desire for raw honey. Today Jace is the fourth-generation beekeeper in his family and has been learning the business ever since he tasted his first drop of golden honey. Jace grew up riding on his father's lap while driving the forklift, moving bees on the family ranch. Beekeeping has come a long way since then, developing from a family hobby to a fully operational family business.
For Sara, crafting and designing products from the hive has become a passion project. Before deciding on specific product or ingredient, she thinks about how it will be used and where it can enhance someone’s life. Once she’s ready to craft a product, she only sources natural, purposeful elements to create beneficial and irresistible blends and designs.
Since graduating from college, Jace & Sara have created their own niche within the world of bees, known today as Backroad Beekeeping.Surrounded by a family of generational beekeepers, they have learned a thing or two about the importance of tradition and heritage. But they're here to recreate the wheel, shake things up, stir the pot.
