Thank you, Cassie Gardens Apartments, for having me yesterday!

Looking forward to creating sugar scrubs in October!

We had a great time with Rachal from MmMattiace-Eats this afternoon. Stay tuned — fun crafts coming soon!

I remember packing lunches in preschool, waiting for a break.
I didn't get one 🫣😂
At least Rachal Mattiace prepared dinner. 💚

If you pick up some raw chicken and vegetables, you can easily make homemade chicken broth.

I'm on a challenge to only go to the store once a month. Why? 🤪 Because every time I pop into the grocery store for just one thing, I end up spending around $90 bill. 🫣

I cut off the fat from the raw chicken and store it in a freezer bag. I also chop up fresh vegetables and keep the ends and odd pieces in a separate freezer bag.

When both bags are full, I toss them into my 8 qt Ninja Kitchen TenderCrisp (Instapot) with seasonings and filtered water, then let it simmer for 2-4+ hours.

After it cools down, I scoop and drain the juices into glass mason jars or silicone molds to freeze for later.

Have you ever tried making your own homemade chicken broth?

Thank you for your referrals! I spoke with a prospect recently and she said someone recommended me for meals. 💚🫶

I created mmMattiace-Eats + Kids Learning Academy after seeing my kids thrive through hands-on creative play while learning. We had a gardening seed starting class where we learned the basics of plants and what they need to thrive in Florida’s “winter”. IYKYK

We ended up starting seeds to grow carrots, cucumbers, impatiens (our daughter is calling these Princess Love 😍), garden beans, lettuce, spinach (because our son reminded me he’s an omnivore 😁), tomato, squash, zucchini, chives, basil, and will do potatoes when they are sprouted.

What are your kids learning?

What is in your fall garden?

Thank you for supporting us and being part of your kids’ learning!

It’s mind boggling to go to the store for every meal. If that works for you, I’m happy for you. It’s another $100 every time I leave the house, so to stay within budget, I look in my fridge and pantry to complete our meals.

Homemade sloppy joes

I used to buy the can because it was easy but my family’s feedback was it was “ketchup sauce”. It was.

I did some research. Tried this a few different times before getting it right. Now this is my go to recipe:

Base: 1 - 2 ground beef (50% 93/7 lean ground beef & 85/15 ground turkey) double below or adjust for desired flavor

1c chopped onions OR 1 tbsp onion powder
3tsp garlic
1c ketchup (start with 1/2c, taste and add more if you prefer it sweeter)
1/4c Worcestershire sauce
1/4c brown sugar
3tbsp yellow mustard
3tbsp Apple C***r Vinegar
2tsp chili powder

Serve warm over toast, buns, or mashed potatoes. Freezes and reheats well. Dinner is under 30 minutes.

They think it’s “just cooking”…
but learning is happening in every step.

It takes a village...

Thank you, Sarah Dee, for the crafting table, chairs, and extra homeschool goodies! This is helping my kids grow and learn, and I'm excited to bring these ideas to the MmMattiace-Eats + Kids Learning Academy.
