“Black Bird” began with a powerful memory.

While incarcerated, Omari Booker was visited by a black bird outside his window. Those moments became a reminder that there was still a world beyond the walls around him, offering a sense of connection, imagination and hope.

Featured on this year’s Corrections label, “Black Bird” reflects the belief that freedom can exist in many forms and that creativity can help us transcend even the most difficult circumstances. “I hope that viewers experience their own personal freedom when they look at this artwork,” says Omari.

A blend crafted to inspire conversation.

Our fourth edition of Corrections pairs purpose with craftsmanship, featuring a Syrah-led blend with layers of ripe purple fruit, vibrant blueberry notes and lively spice.
The label features Omari Booker’s “Black Bird,” a work inspired by the bird that visited his prison window and became a symbol of hope, imagination and the possibility of freedom beyond physical confinement.

As part of this release, The Prisoner is donating $75,000 to the Center for Art & Advocacy, contributing an additional 5% of every bottle sold, and providing a $50,000 grant to Omari Booker to support his artistic practice. Guided by his belief in "FREEDOM THROUGH ART," Omari creates work that encourages reflection, connection and possibility. His artwork for this year's Corrections release draws from personal experience and serves as a reminder that hope can be found even in the most difficult moments.​

Art has always been at the heart of The Prisoner. For our fourth edition of Corrections, we’re proud to partner with artist and poet Omari Booker.

Launched in 2022, Corrections is an annual limited-edition w**e that brings together art and advocacy to help reshape cultural narratives around those impacted by the justice system. Through artist partnerships and storytelling, each release creates space for dialogue, reflection and meaningful connection.

This year’s label showcases Omari Booker’s artwork, “Black Bird,” inspired by the bird that regularly visited his window while incarcerated. The piece reflects moments of confinement while standing as a symbol of resilience, hope and the possibility that exists beyond physical barriers.

Alongside this release, The Prisoner will donate $75,000 to the Center for Art & Advocacy, founded by artist Jesse Krimes, plus an additional 5% of every bottle sold to support its mission of advancing opportunities for justice-impacted artists. We are also proud to provide a $50,000 grant to Omari Booker in support of his work and creative practice.
