Tulips are on their way out.

Our first flowers of spring have been holding down the stand for the last couple weeks, but this is likely their final weekend.

If you haven’t grabbed a bouquet yet, or need one more before they’re gone, stop by and see us.

The tulips are clearly taking full advantage of this warm weather… maybe a little too enthusiastically 🌷

They’re blooming fast, but its hard to be mad when it finally feels this nice out.

Come grab them while they’re showing off.

While everyone else is celebrating Halloween, we’re celebrating Frostmas — the first hard frost of fall.

Once the freeze hits and the foliage blackens, it’s our cue to cut the stems back so the plant can send its last bit of energy down into the tubers.

We leave the clumps in the ground for a week or two to cure, it gives the tubers time to plump up and their skins a chance to toughen. That little pause helps prevent rot later. Then it’s time to dig, label, and dry them before tucking them away for winter in a cool, frost-free spot. Stored in a breathable medium, they rest quietly until spring.

In short: we’re busy tucking the dahlias in for their long winter nap.

The last bouquets are gone, and the stand has been tucked away for the season.

Our 2025 flower season has come to a close, and we’re so thankful for everyone who stopped by and brought a little piece of the garden home!

And just like that, our 2025 flower season is coming to a close. This Sunday, October 5, will be our last day open.

We’ll have $5 wrapped bouquets available on the stand through the weekend for one last splash of color before closing up shop.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand, grabbed a bouquet, or cheered us on from afar, you help make this possible!

That’s a wrap on special orders! This beautiful set of baby-shower brunch bouquets is our finale, and the stand is heading into its last stretch.

Right now you’ll still find a few $10 bouquets, but we’re shifting to $5 dahlia bundles as the other flowers fade. Dahlias will keep blooming until frost, and with no chill in the forecast, we’ll stay open a little longer than expected. Watch our stories for updates on what’s in stock and for the final closing date.

Thank you to everyone who’s stopped by this season; if you’re craving one last bouquet before we pack up, now’s the time. The dahlias are too lovely to waste!

Somehow it’s already late September, and the garden is shifting gears. The earlier summer blooms have finished, but the dahlias are in their prime and filling most of our bouquets.

While we spend our evenings arranging flowers for the stand, we’re also planning for next year, researching late-season fillers to help make it easier to keep the bouquets coming right up to the first frost.

No frost is in the forecast yet, but we’re likely only a couple of weeks from wrapping up the season. Stay tuned for updates!

We started the season fighting wireworms that wiped out about a third of our dahlias, including some new tubers we had just bought for this growing season. Heartbreaking. Frustrating. Expensive.

After treatment, we filled some of the empty spots with a pack of “mystery” discount tubers from .acre.farm.mi, planted late, and crossed our fingers.

Yesterday, the first one bloomed, and it’s a stunner! We’re pretty sure it’s Peaches N Cream, all peachy swirls and soft blush. Totally worth the gamble and a sweet reward after a rough start.

Here’s to surprise wins and healthy tubers, can’t wait to see what the rest of the mystery pack brings!
