We are thrilled to welcome Michael Bader to The W**e Company as our newest Sales Consultant with a great many talents to bring to all those he will serve. His vast experience and generous nature makes Michael a pleasure to be around and a genuine asset. We are excited to have him among us.

“I grew up in South Dakota and moved down to Kansas City, Missouri after getting an education degree from SDSU. I started learning w**e and spirits in Kansas City while I attended grad school studying music.

“After school, I stayed in the restaurant industry with jobs all over the city, even working on private trains and doing virtual w**e and spirits events for people from all over the world.

“I moved up to Minnesota in 2023 to be closer to family and fell in love with living here. I am so excited to join The W**e Company as it will give me more oppotunity to continue learning and sharing information about what I love, the people and places in your glass.

“Outside of work I am probably reading about some odd spirit category, trying out a new recipe, or daydreaming about where to travel next.”

TASTING NOTES:
o The w**e reveals a pale color with delicate green reflections.

TOGETHER WE HELPED THE HOUSE!
Many thanks to all the co-sponsors supporting the Help the House Gala this past weekend – not least our friends at Dry Wit and Far North Spirits who were there in the flesh – and a special shout out for **ecoimport Ottella W**ery whose Le Creete Lugana paired beautifully with the course we matched it.

Help the House Foundation bridges the gap to physical health, mental health, and general wellbeing resources to those in the hospitality industry that may need it most. Efforts involve insurance accessibility, mental health struggles in the workplace, and retirement availability in the hospitality community.

Highlights from the Help the House Gala included
• VIP Cocktail Hour: Featured culinary stations and appearances by Food Network stars and guest speakers, including Chef Zacharia (Hua Momona Farms), Mike Brown (Travail Kitchen), and Kenny Gilbert.
• General Admission Hour: Included app stations from 9 local chefs, local distilleries, craft breweries, and w**emakers, plus a Photo Booth and silent auction.
• Main Dinner: A six-course collaborative pairing menu matching prominent Minnesota chefs with visiting national talent (such as Christina Nguyen, Lee Ann Wong, Karyn Tomlinson, Dan Jacobs, Yia Vang, Kevin Lee, Adam Ritter, and Viet Pham).
• Dessert: A special finale course prepared by pastry chef Diane Moua.

All of this was hosted at the Radisson Blu Mall of America to help this non-profit in its noble endeavor. Bravo to all involved and all who came out in support!

100% Estate. Organically Farmed. Honest W**e.

Melville first caught our eye along with our palates for its 100% estate-grown fruit, low-intervention w**emaking, and w**es that capture the unique charms of the exceptional Sta. Rita Hills. First planted over the late 1990s by Ron Melville and his sons Chad and Brent, it is Chad who has been running the estate as active w**egrower since we first started working with Melville over a decade ago.

The estate produces distinctive, world-class w**es shaped by the cool, windswept coastal climate that envelopes this pioneering appellation within Santa Barbara County. Its east west orientation pulls the cold Pacific Ocean fog into the vineyards – creating one of the longest growing climates in California, achieving a unique terroir capable to full flavor ripeness while retaining a vibrant acidity that is the envy of many a w**egrower across this warming world.

Every bottle of w**e is grown and made on the 120-acre estate using organic farming, native yeast, minimal new oak, and thoughtful whole-cluster fermentation. The result is bright, mineral-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay alongside savory, peppery Syrah — all with incredible aromatics and a clear sense of this gifted place.

Open Pollinated High Rye Bourbon

Bødalen Bottled in Bond is a high rye bourbon wh***ey born of grain grown and harvested by head distiller Michael Swanson.

Bottled in bond occupies a rarefied place in the wh***ey world. 100 proof. Must be at least 4 years old. Distilled and aged on site under the supervision of a single distiller, in a single season.

TASTING NOTES
Toffee, sweet corn, and bright orange zest greet the nose. Peppery and vegetal entry on the palate with a rich, woodsy depth and traditional bourbon warmth. Long and persistent on the finish, featuring notes of bitter chocolate and brown sugar.
