Key West Shrimp Company St Pete Beach is officially closing its doors, while the Madeira Beach and Gulfport location will remain open. This closure is bittersweet, as this small shop was the beginning of amazing things, many wonderful memories were made in this shop. It’s the shop where Cori and Logan first became fish mongers, it’s where our three little boys enjoyed going to work with daddy, it’s a shop that logan put his heart and soul into, but now, logan has the opportunity for even bigger things. Owning a one man shop and running a shipping website just isn’t a job for one man, and now he can pursue other goals he has within his life for his family, and himself.
Logan, and I (his wife), want to thank our loyal customers/ seafood family for the past few years, and hope you’ll continue to bless our families company at the other two locations, as well as Cori’s seafood grill. Logan will be working at the Gulfport and Madeira stores, bringing his expertise and dedication to wonderful use there.
While this door closes for our family, new ones open, and we are excited for them. Less stress, more family time, and the opportunity for Logan to pursue his bigger dreams.
This isn’t goodbye, this is see you at the other shops!

We want to extend our thoughts and prayers to the many affected by Hurricane Ida yesterday, the devastation is coming to light this morning as the sun rises and it is very hard to see.
We also want to honor our lost soldiers over seas in Kabul, as a nation our hearts break. We would like to offer 15% off to our veterans and their dependents (just have a military ID).

Happy anniversary and the thrill of being king for a day! Three couples and a beautiful day on the water. They were all from Lakeland so I knew that birds were on the menu. Lol they did have a few on, thankfully none that got the hook, just the baits. The action was steady, mackerel, cobia, kingfish, a shark that missed the hook. Several sea bass and some hard pulling yellow jacks made the day busy at times. From riding high in the tower to snuggling up in the bean bags I’m sure everyone on this trip was thoroughly entertained and a little tired from fighting fish. They wanted some food to take home and they took plenty! Thanks to all of you and see you soon.

The kingfish are here!! So are the tarpon. Tom, Dick & Harry came all the way from Europe wanting to catch some fish. Dick wanted to knock off his bucket list tarpon, he did see them as close as three feet from the boat, however we couldn’t get them to bite. Tom & Harry enjoyed catching sail cats and jacks while waiting for the silver king to bite. We then decided to leave and head into the gulf to see what the kingfish were up to. It was quicker than I could keep up with, leader after leader being cut off. The drag screamed and fifty feet from the boat a 150 pound shark jumped five feet into and air smashing back into the water and swimming free!! You lose one you rig one...The mackerel were biting and going in the cooler. I was tossing chum into the water as the reel screamed, they don’t call them smokers for nothing. We all stood and watched as the line peeled from the reel, it happened so fast that chasing him down wasn’t even an option. With about 15 feet of line left on the spool I tightened down the drag and to my surprise the fish stoped and let us get some line back. Then we chased him down and got the fish in the boat. Great job Harry and Dick you know how to fish!! If you look at the picture closely you will see no wire leader only monofilament. Most would say that’s not possible! Anythings possible when you book a trip with Hookin Ain’t Easy from tarpon to grouper, to massive sharks and lots of rod screaming kingfish and mackerel. It’s that time of year when Mother Nature isn’t always nice but the fishing is fantastic.
