Orange King Calendula 🌼
Scientific name: Calendula officinalis ‘Orange King’
This bright, old-fashioned flower is one of my favorite little apothecary plants. Calendula has those rich orange petals that look like sunshine in the garden and has been traditionally loved for skin-soothing herbal creations like infused oils, salves, and balms.
She’s earthy, useful, beautiful, and absolutely belongs in a little cottage garden. 🌿✨

I have a few little Broad Leaf Sage starter plants available from Baker Creek heirloom seed.

These are still small babies — around 3 inches tall — but they are healthy starts and ready to be planted into a pot, raised bed, or herb garden.

Broad Leaf Sage is a beautiful culinary herb with soft, aromatic leaves. It’s wonderful for cooking, drying, herb gardens, pollinator spaces, and containers.

🌸🌕 The Flower Moon is coming in, and I can’t lie… this one has me feeling some type of way.

I’ve always been drawn to the moon, and with Flowers being my maiden name, this full moon feels like a little wink from the universe.

The Flower Moon reminds us that the things we’ve been planting — quietly, messily, hopefully — still know how to bloom.

Even if we doubted them.
Even if we got tired.
Even if we had to start over 47 times. Ha.
