Woody Acres Farm

Woody Acres Farm Who knew 2020 would go like it has... We didn't even plan on having a garden until someone said lock down. Now we are poultry men... ;)

It started with eggs... Walmart ran out and we said NO WAY! So we got a couple dozen laying hens and some broilers.

If anyone of my friends up north adopt one of these pups… I will find a way to deliver them to you!

I’m a little preoccupied today with thoughts of my ole friend Rocky. He passed away late last night. He was living in the mountains of NH with numbah one son.

I haven’t seen him in five years. I wonder if he even remembered me? I wonder if Lady Dog ever wondered where he went. It’s sad watching a dog’s timeline go so fast. 😢

Free Pig!

Oh, it has been so long... I apologize for not doing more videos and keep y'all up to date. Suffice it say, it was a tough year.

I have learned many things this year so, I guess that's the positive. Too much; too fast, could sum up the farming chapter of this last year. I've spent a couple months downsizing and focusing in on chickens.

The goats are gone, most of the pigs are gone and the chickens are doing well. However there is this one animal here that really has to go. He was good until he lost his respect for electric wire. That animal is my 300 plus pound, intact, one year old boar. He's big, he's smart in fact he knows too much.

At first, it wasn't too awful bad having him really free range. He is friendly and has a routine. Latel his routine has taken a turn as he has fallen in love with a few of the feed barrels. I live on top of a hill and when he gets a little intimate the barrel scoots away with the gravity and he chases "her" where ever she goes. They usually end up at the bottom of the hill.

It's kind of strange to see and the ole boy tries his best to make those barrels his own, but it's getting out of hand. Now, the dogs get anxious when the pig gets all riled up looking for love and it's messing with my chi.

This pig was part of a plan to breed a couple of sows and raise and sell some piglets (feeder pigs.) Maybe in the future that will happen but not today. Too soon... but some day.

This guy is available immediately! He needs a good home with some real ladies or a trip to freezer camp. I offer him up to someone with humane intentions. If he ends up as sausage just treat him right until the end.

Must pick up... the sooner the better. Donations accepted but no charge for this guy.

Oh no... they found out where I live!
