José Quiroz Farm We grow affordable, sustainable produce for sale at various Pittsburgh area farmers' markets. Saturday - Mt. Lebanon; 9 a.m. to noon; 700 block of Washington Rd.

Wednesday - Carrick; 3 to 7 p.m.; corner of Brownsville Rd. & East Meyers

Thursday - Market Square; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Downtown Pittsburgh

Thursday - Green Tree; 4 to 7 p.m.; Green Tree Park, (Green Tree Rd. - near Aiken School)

Friday - North Side; 3 to 7 p.m.; East Park (East Ohio St. & Cedar Ave.)

We'd like to thank our customers at the Bethel Park Farmers' Market for making our tear down so easy on Tuesday - you took home a LOT of produce!

Not many people have heard of a Mutsu apple. It’s the perfect blend of a Honeycrisp & a Granny Smith. It’s perfectly balanced. It goes well w cinnamon for breakfast yet pairs beautifully w white cheddar & a crisp glass of white wine for a date night in.

Don’t know what to do w those big beautiful onions José sells? Here’s what I do w mine. I chop/ cut it for what I need then I freeze what’s left. Great for omelettes, quiche, red sauce, soups, stews, stocks & bone broths. Bonus they do get a lil soft so it lessens the cooking time.
