Pulled up one plant to see if we could grow sweet potatoes down here after I was told it was impossible. First plant seems promising, 300+ more to dig this weekend. No chemical fertilizer, just rabbit and chicken manure, compost and woodchips. ( brought to us by dangerous tree removal, thank you Kevin)

All these sticks came from the front yard. I use them to burn down stumps. We have taken out over 50 trees on just the first acre more coming this weekend.

Nothing like being woke up at 1130 to a pack of coyotes. Annie Oakley grabs the gun. Checks on the meat birds in the pasture, the rabbits and the layers. With my dewalt flash light and Armour in hand see at least 7 sets of eyes staring back at me at the corner of the pig lot. By the time I could set down the light to get a shot, they went in the corn field. So now I know, I will have some late nights in the pasture.

Yesterday I gave the hooppdie house a little freshen up. Years ago my feeder pig guy gave this to me, it was already hoopdie. Then this winter the ice storm caved in the roof. But thank you dootsie for saving everything. We took some of his old metal and cut a new roof and took some of his old wood and patched the bottom. A little osfo, paint and wire she may have a few more years left in her.
