It’s funny how a hobby can turn into a purpose.
I never knew I’d fall in love with beekeeping. I never imagined that saying “yes” to a few hives would lead me here.
Since then, I’ve been welcomed onto some of the most beautiful ranches in Texas, met people I’ll never forget, and found a passion I didn’t even know existed. I’ve watched the sun rise over apiaries, stood in places I never would’ve found otherwise, and been reminded time and time again just how incredible God’s creation really is.
It’s not always easy. There are stings, dead-outs, colonies that abscond, and enough Central Texas heat to make you question your sanity. But there are also those quiet moments in the bee yard where the rest of the world fades away, and all you hear is the hum of thousands of bees doing exactly what they were created to do.
Somewhere along the way, I realized the bees were teaching me far more than I could ever teach them-patience, resilience, humility, and the beauty of slowing down.
I don’t love every moment of beekeeping. But I love beekeeping. There’s a difference.
I’m so grateful I took that leap when people looked at me and said, “Bees?! Are you crazy?”
Maybe I am. But what a beautiful life these little bees have led me to. 🐝🤍
