This week at the ranch - we are waiting for rain, and hoping it doesn't all arrive in one downpour! Also, I don't care how old you are, making hundreds of frogs peep and hop into the water is fun!😁

Meet (L to R) Blackie, Beauty, Paint, and Paint's daughter Daisy. Blackie Beauty and Paint are part of the original herd brought to the ranch in 2014. They are officially retired as mommas. Their only job now is to look pretty and mentor the heifers.

This week at the ranch - it's dry and crispy. Cows are eating whatever grass is left, and we're supplementing with hay to be sure they have plenty to eat.

This little one is enjoying what's left of the pond.

If you have an "in" with the weatherman, send some rain our way!

Ferdinand the bull gave us a little scare this week. He somehow got a big scrape on his leg that caused lots of swelling, and if you have been reading the news about new world screwworm, that made us quite anxious! We're grateful for the folks at Deason Animal Hospital for patching him up and reassuring us. Just a surface wound, no NWS!

Ferdinand is a gentle giant that has been making calves for us for 10 years. We can't imagine the ranch without him!

Taken at the ranch yesterday while hacking ice out of the water troughs. It was nasty cold and beautiful!
