FINE FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY

To say the least, I love to eat good food and as a hobby chef I know how to make my own consomme and roll my favorite sushi. I grew up on good old southern cooking, including homemade cornbread, collared greens, black eyed peas and a large variety of self hunted and fished proteins. At the age of 20, I decided to stay in Europe for what turned out to be over 20 years (yes, I’m that old :-) ) My Mother is German, so I was already familiar with German Food, but living in Germany for all that time and extensively traveling throughout the continent, showed me so many different foods, from so many different cultures. From Middle Eastern, French, Mediterranean, German( Bavarian ), Skandinavian, Russian and even Northern African Cuisine, I’ve tried many of the local dishes served in the countries, where they originated. From pickled octopus. over kolbasa, to sauerbraten. I have cooked many of these dishes in my own kitchen using family recipes passed along over generations.

For the past 30 years, I have used a camera, to express my creative side outside of the kitchen. Starting with analog technology and then moving on to digital. I have shot photos for money and fame and have had my works published in two books and countless newspapers and magazines. I have worked as a freelancer and as a professional portrait Photographer.

Many years ago, I was able to work together with a dear friend and master photographer, who, in is down time, built and shot stunning lifelike landscapes made of food. This fascinated me and a future dream was born. So here I am and I’ve been able to have some of my food shots published and am looking to show more of what I can do for other chefs and restaurants.
