Simon Fest Sr. bought the property in 1865. It's unknown how much of the house existed at the time. The first floor left...

Simon Fest Sr. bought the property in 1865. It's unknown how much of the house existed at the time. The first floor left side of the house is constructed of adobe and was the original house. Later, caliche block additions were added to the right side and rear of the house. Still later, a second story made of brick was added. Notice that you can see the shape of the original one story roofline which is whiter than the brick addition above.

Restoration of the Simon Fest Sr. house at 119 Simon Street in San Antonio is underway. The Fest house is pictured on the right. The house on the left was built by subsequent property owners Minnie and James Matthews in 1907, and was moved a short distance to this location in 1912.
