Meatballs are officially on fresh pasture!
I so often hear complaints about Cornish Cross being "gross" and "filthy" to raise and I get it, I really do. I can't wait to get these guys out of the brooder each batch. They grow FAST and they poop...a LOT.
But raised right, rotationally grazed on fresh pasture daily, with access to bugs and weeds and all the other goodies chicken love, these guys THRIVE. They act like real chickens, they peck and scratch and run.
That's why we do what we do. Our meatballs are moved everyday, dine on fermented feed for maximum gut health, and live great lives for a bird that's butcher ready in just 8 short weeks. Beats what they're selling you in the grocery store. Have you seen a commercial chicken operation lately? No thanks, I'll stick with my pasture raised chicken any day!
If you've raised Cornish Cross, what have been your experiences?
