- Parents asking for the recipe and seeing the shock when they learned the meat was ground turkey and not ground beef.

From Japan to San Antonio!

What an unforgettable afternoon! Chef JJ had the honor of teaching an amazing family of seven (five young chefs and two adults) how to make dumplings using the same techniques he learned while visiting Japan earlier this year.

There was plenty of laughter, learning, folding, and, of course, delicious dumplings. We were especially honored to welcome young chefs who traveled from outside San Antonio to cook with us!

A heartfelt thank you to Alamo Kitchens for providing such an incredible space to bring this experience to life. Your support helped make this class truly special.

Chef JJ loved sharing his passion for food, culture, and cooking with this wonderful family and can’t wait to host another class soon. If you’re interested in a private family cooking experience, we’d love to cook with you!

Thank you to the Community Table Foundation and sponsors for inviting Chef JJ to be part of an incredible Juneteenth event.

Today, we transformed The Table into an intergenerational conversation about spice and memory. Participants got to make their own spice blend.
