This is my RBF. Resting Boss Face.

This is the face of nirvana when instead of screaming down life’s rollercoaster, you keep an RBF.

This is the face of IDGAF when an opportunity slips away or a setback sends you ten steps back, yet you rock an RBF.

From attending my first entrepreneurship bootcamp at SCET at UC Berkeley 4 years ago to graduating in 2022 to run my business full time, riding the highs and lows have developed my RBF among the chaos.

Today, I wear my RBF proudly as a shield over my failures, insecurity, fear, self-doubt, and resilience as a woman navigating uncharted territory, opening a cafe in Downtown San Francisco amidst the pandemic and thriving from there.

Now, I had the opportunity to step back on the same campus that nurtured and incubated my entrepreneurial dream, to share my experiences with others. Thank you for having me in your panel.

Hey y’all 👋 I’ve finally wrapped up renovations at the cafe. Indoor seating ✅ menu ✅ so here’s what’s coming up next:

⏰ updated store hours. We’re now open 7AM-5PM on weekdays and 9AM-5PM on the weekends. I’ll be there every morning so stop by for a fresh latte crested by yours truly 💜

❤️ valentines soirée: Feb 17, I’m hosting an open mic x latte art event in collab with my teammate and beautiful barista ✨ so sign up asap since there’s only a few spots left

Hey fam, hope you’re getting the joy and love you deserve this holiday. I’m currently renovating the cafe, working on some new recipes/ food items 👀🤤, and adding new art to the shop so we’ll be closed until the end of the year and back open January. Can’t wait to show y’all AURA’s growth 💜

2024, we’re coming in strong together 💪🏽 thanks for being a part of this journey in raising AURA into her glowing, vibrant self. Thank you for supporting whether you’ve tried us in store, farmers markets, learned some latte art, or even just vibed with us 💜✨

‼️ WHAT YOU SAY WILL HAPPEN: your words manifest it and actions put it into existence. So, we need to stay mindful of what we say. If we say it won’t happen, probably it won’t…time to flip the switch. Make it happen, say it’ll happen

🔑BALANCE IS KEY: make time for your mental. You’re the captain of your ship. If we’re not loving ourselves, then we can’t put the right energy into what we do. That’s self-sabotage

✨KARMA IS A B*TCH: how you treat someone really comes around. We need to stay mindful of our relationships and community. We’re all going through our own journeys so treating someone else poorly will end up biting us back. Just a matter of time…

My goal is to stay transparency along this crazy journey and I will do my best to share these truths no matter how beautiful or ugly.

After a scenic, self-reflective self-drive on 880 from my boba shop to the AI lab in South SF last week, I def needed a group therapy sesh and pick-me-up🧋

Thanks to the opportunity to speak and cater my drinks, my dream came true, and I’m not talking about virtual reality. 🧐

“So tell me how you got started” transformed into “so tell me how you overcame your biggest setback” which transformed into “so tell me how you feel about…” but I’ll stop here before I start venting again…

From sharing how I overcame opening my store during the pandemic to re-discovering my passion after workshopping my purpose, the feelings came out. (a CEO’s nightmare) I was in the space I dreamed of - the one I enjoyed when I "boba and chilled" with my friends back in high school or grabbed a classic milk tea after a brutal midterm in college. 👀🧋

Instead of bottling our emotions, we enjoyed boba bottles and spilled the tea over conservations. The diversity in our backgrounds, perspectives, and auras turned the meeting room into a safe space for conversations around failure and success, passion and stagnation, and strength and vulnerability. Being emotionally vulnerable doesn’t make us weak - it makes us stronger together.

While I started AURA as a healthy boba alternative that you can drink 3x a week, it’s transformed into a good vibes movement for self-expression. If you ever need to fuel your aura with good boba, good vibes, or a good old conversation, come through to my boba shop on 121 Spear St in Downtown San Francisco.
