One of my absolute favorites? SEKT.
And not every Sekt is worth your time… trust me. I’ve tried many and did the research.

All my sparkling wines are made in the traditional method, Brut or Brut Nature. Who needs sugar?!
If the term SEKT is NOT further specified on the bottle, it’s most likely tank method/charmat method.

And rumor has it you should always have sparkling wine on hand. I support this rumor.

Have you tried Sekt or Champagne and Currywurst? Do you want the recipe? 🤤

I might have some very cool Sekt bundles ready for BD17… 👀✨

Forbes just featured BerserkerDay!

In a time when wine sales are declining, BerserkerDay keeps breaking records by doing something simple but powerful: supporting small producers and independent wine businesses.

BerserkerDay helped me so much in the early stages of my business and gave me the confidence that there is a market in the US for the wines I was choosing.

Fast forward to today:
**3 years in business
**my 3rd Berserker Day! January 30th!
**importer of the Year 2025
**First distributor signed!

So grateful for this community and everyone who buys wines not just on Berkersker day, but you should definitely check out the offers :) January 30!!

German Pinot Noir or Spätburgunder? Max calls it Pinot Noir for his Sélection massale vines from Burgundy versus Spätburgunder which are clones from Germany.

Biodynamic. Volcanic. Ridiculously complex but elegant. I love his volcanic single vineyard Pinot Noir. Spontaneous fermentation kicked off with 5 days of carbonic maceration, followed by classic maceration on the skins.

Aged for nearly two years in 100% new French oak, crafted by a small cooper in Burgundy using oak harvested from the forest that crowns the vineyard.

FUN FACT: Because it is officially labeled as “table wine,” the full site name cannot appear on the label.

Region: Baden, Markgräflerland

Psst. It will be on sale during Berserker Day! January 30th, Friday. 📆

Germany is a cool-climate wine-growing region. So how are the red wines THIS good?

Tiny production overall, but the commitment to top-tier red winemaking (and a little help from a warming climate) has unlocked a new era:
Merlot, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Spätburgunder, Lemberger, Cabernet Franc.

Did you hear the news? Siegloch 2019 Cabernet Franc Vogelfrei Reserve was crowned best RED WINE (Category Cabernet) by VINUM red wine price!!?? I snagged a few bottles!

The vines are grown on our steep-slope terraces overlooking the River Necker. The vineyard with its rustic calcareous soils is cultivated by hand. Aged in French oak for 18 months, bottled unfiltered and without any fining. As pure as it gets!

Expect elegance, complexity — and very little inventory. Check out my red wine bundle I curated for BerserkerDay. Safe the date! Jan 30th!

What a year. Was für ein Jahr. Wild, in the best and most chaotic ways. Better late than never, THANK YOU!!

Thank you for welcoming me into your homes during my sales trips, for choosing German wines from wine lists, for joining my wine club, for listening to me talk about tariffs over and over again, and for supporting and giving me feedback on the decisions I made throughout the year.

Thanks to all the amazing restaurants, wine bars, and shops across California with whom I get to work and spread the word about how great German wines are.

A HUGE DANKE to the 9 wineries I work with for making incredible wines and trusting me to get this business up, running, and growing. Literally couldn’t do it without you.

Some 2025 highlights:
🥨Importer of the Year (!!)
🫶Signed my first distributor — more on that soon!
🥨Three winemakers visited me in California
🫶I got to go back home to Germany to see my dad + sister
🥨River cruise in 2027 is officially happening

Thank you for being part of this journey.
Danke from the bottom of an empty bottle of Sekt.

Cheers to 2026, eure Lisa

I have some exciting news… Do you want to go to Europe with me?🍷🚢
In August 2027, I’ll be hosting my very first Tupetz Wine Connection Rhine River Cruise, and I’d love for you to join me. Comment below and I’ll send you more details!

We’ll sail from Basel to Amsterdam, stopping in some of the most beautiful wine + cultural regions in Europe: Alsace, Strasbourg, Rüdesheim, the Rhine Gorge, Düsseldorf, and finally Cologne — the area where I grew up.

There are several places on this route that shaped my childhood, and coming back now with you, through the lens of wine, feels incredibly special. And yes… I’m also excited to explore a few new places together along the way.
On board, I’ll be hosting:
🥨🫶Two guided tastings.
🥨🫶A gourmet wine-paired dinner.
🥨🫶Lots of stories, vineyard talk, and behind-the-scenes wine life.

You can join the 7-night cruise, add a 4-night Switzerland pre-tour, or stay on for a 2-night Amsterdam post-tour.

Oysters for breakfast, yes please. We had our first meeting on Friday morning at Shuck Shack in Avila Beach. If you know me, we have probably been here together! It is one of my favorite local spots.

Winemaker Mike Sinor and his wife, Cheri LaVallee Sinor, founded Sinor-LaVallee Estate Wines in 1997. In 2021, the winery Sinor-LaVallee expanded its vision by launching the Shuck Shack: a casual, seaside spot where you can sip standout wines and shuck your own oysters fresh from Morro Bay. It’s just perfect! Have you been??

And exciting news: there’s a new wine bar opening soon in Avila Beach… so stay tuned. 👀🍷

Dinner at Les Petites Canailles in Paso Robles is a must for me, and I love going there with friends and winemakers who come to visit — it’s one of my Lieblings-spots on the Central Coast.

It’s a French-inspired, farm-driven restaurant with beautiful, thoughtful dishes, great wine program, and you can get dinner past 8pm 🍾

A glass of Champagne felt just right after the long drive. Julien Prelat Chantemerle Blanc de Noir Champagne, which was absolutely singing with the mussels, the bright acidity and fine mousse cut right through the broth and made everything pop.
Maybe everything tasted extra good because it took Max and me WAY too long to get there from Napa…
But once we finally made it: fantastic food, a smart wine list, and a great team! Thanks for tasting Max’s wines with us .saunders

Have you been to Les Petites Canailles, or would you like to go with me? I’ll go again any day!

And of course, we had to enjoy more good food and this time we had some great friends join us. Sharing wines with friends is truly the best.
We got together for lunch in Yountville at Bottega — and if you haven’t been, you need to check them out. We sat outside next to the wood fire, opened Max’s wines, and added a bottle of HDV (Hyde de Villaine Hyde Vineyard) Chardonnay Napa Valley Chardonnay to the mix.
German Pinot and Chardonnay, a grape that no one can pronounce (Chasselas), local California Chardonnay and beautiful Italian dishes made the perfect international mash-up.

DAY 2 of our travel Tagebuch. A full day visiting some of my San Francisco, East Bay and Napa accounts.
Pouring, tasting, storytelling, connecting.
Watching Max explain his wines, seeing them open up wo nicely, hearing the positive feedback, confirmed everything.
Working with Max was the right choice.

A big thank you to everyone who made time to taste with us. Head over to support these spots and ask for the German juice. 🥨🫶sf

German Wine Fact:
Wines change with oxygen. That’s why it can be tricky for wine bars to keep too many bottles open to pour by the glass.
But slow-made, well-crafted wines? They love a little air. They develop, deepen, and get more complex — especially when they have good acidity.
