🥚 A BIG thank you from Blue Daugh Farm! 💙

You all really showed up for our egg abundance this week! We sent a whole lot of dozens out the door and welcomed several new egg customers along the way. 🐔

Thanks to you, our refrigerator is looking much more reasonable and we’re back to a pretty normal egg-laying cadence around here. 😂

But don’t worry—the girls are still doing their thing, and we’re happy to keep your fridge stocked!

🥚 $5 per dozen

To everyone who bought eggs, shared our post, told a friend, or tried Blue Daugh Farm eggs for the first time—THANK YOU. Supporting a small farm really can be as simple as buying your breakfast locally, and we appreciate every single carton that leaves the farm. 💙

New customer? We’d love to keep you supplied! Send me a message anytime.

🫐 Fruit Leather Update: IT WORKED! 🙌

Remember that blueberry pulp I couldn’t bring myself to throw away after making our Blueberry Lemonade Concentrate?

Well… I’m really glad I saved it.

I spread the leftover pulp onto the dehydrator trays, crossed my fingers, and let it do its thing.

The verdict? Blueberry Lemonade Fruit Leather is a WIN! 🫐🍋

It turned out great—fruity, a little tangy, and now I have a way to turn something that would have been waste into something delicious instead.

And THAT might be my favorite part.

Grow the blueberries. Make the concentrate. Save the pulp. Make another product.

Less waste. More blueberries. I call that a farm-kitchen win. 💙

Now the question is… should I make this every time I make lemonade concentrate? 👀

When the tomatoes start blushing, it’s time to make some decisions. 🍅👀

We’re picking tomatoes once they’ve started turning color—even if they aren’t completely red yet—and bringing them inside to finish ripening.

Why the early evacuation? Rain has arrived. 🌧️

At this point in the season, I’d much rather have tomatoes ripening safely on the counter than leave them outside through a stretch of wet weather and risk splitting, cracking, or losing perfectly good fruit.

So if it’s showing some color, it got picked. 😂🍅

No decisions needed for this haul—once ripe, these tomatoes are freezer-bound until I’m ready for one big sauce-making day. 🍅🙌

What do you make with fresh tomatoes — salsa, sauce, canned tomatoes, or something else?

🥚 We may have created a tiny egg problem over here.

Between the Cluckstables, Chick-A-Ds, Foghorns, and now the Black Eyed Bettys joining the laying crew, the eggs just. keep. coming. 😂

Our problem = your breakfast.

🥚 $5/dozen
🥚🥚🥚 3 dozen for $12

These are farm-fresh eggs from our free-range, pasture hens, collected right here at Blue Daugh Farm.

🍋🫐 One batch. Two blueberry treats.

This week’s kitchen project: 10 pints of Blueberry Lemonade Concentrate canned up and ready for you!🙌

And because I can’t stand to waste perfectly good blueberry pulp… I’m trying something new. 😏

After straining all those blueberries for the concentrate, I took the leftover pulp, spread it out on the dehydrator trays, and Blueberry Lemonade Fruit Leather is officially in the works!

Will it work? Will it be delicious? Will I wonder why I haven’t been doing this all along? 😂 We’ll find out tomorrow!

I love finding ways to use as much of what we grow as possible—and sometimes the “leftovers” turn into something pretty darn good.

Stay tuned for the fruit leather verdict. 👀🫐

SOLD OUT! 💙🌶️

You all cleaned me out of Blueberry Jalapeño Jam at the market today! 🙌 I’ll be whipping up another batch soon, but in the meantime, here’s another reason you might want to grab a jar when it’s back.

Turn it into a sweet + spicy cream cheese spread!

Mix:
🫐 About 4 oz Blueberry Jalapeño Jam
🧀 8 oz softened cream cheese

That’s it!

Whip them together and you’ve got a creamy, sweet-with-a-little-kick spread that’s perfect for crackers, bagels, crostini or a holiday appetizer board.

And maybe keep this little trick tucked away for the holidays… because “I made an appetizer” sounds much more impressive than “I mixed two things together.” 😂

More Blueberry Jalapeño Jam coming soon! Who snagged a jar today? And what are you putting yours on?

Today’s garden haul has me thinking dangerous thoughts… like “maybe we need a little farm stand.” 👀🌱

Bell peppers, jalapeños, pickling cucumbers and green beans all came in today, with lettuce, carrots and radishes making their way straight to our dinner table. 🫑🌶️🥒🥕

The garden is starting to produce more than just what we need for dinner, and I can’t help but imagine a little Blue Daugh Farm stand stocked with whatever happens to be fresh that week — veggies, eggs, herbs and maybe a few other farm goodies. 💙

No promises yet… just planting a seed. 😉

But I’m curious: if you saw a little Blue Daugh Farm stand, would you stop? And what would you hope to find there?
