Here’s one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon in Santa Ynez:
Order ahead from STICA, walk across the street, pick it up, and bring it over to Artiste. Grab a table in our air-conditioned Tasting Gallery, surround yourself with original art, open a bottle or enjoy a tasting, and settle in with some seriously delicious food.
STICA is the casual, grab-and-go sibling of the acclaimed S.Y. Kitchen, created by Chef Luca Crestanelli and his team. Think Roman-style pizza with that light, crispy crust, fresh salads, Italian panini and plenty of things made for sharing and noshing over wine.
And one thing you absolutely have to try: their new mortadella sandwich made on pizza-dough bread. It is ridiculously good and especially great with a glass of Artiste.
Chef Luca has built a tremendous reputation here, and S.Y. Kitchen has long been one of the area’s most beloved restaurants.
Speaking personally, I’ve been enjoying Luca’s food for months and highly recommend it with our wines.
The best part? STICA is essentially across the street from Artiste, so you can order ahead, grab your food and make our gallery your lunch spot.
This is also part of a bigger secret we think visitors are only beginning to discover: the little town of Santa Ynez is one of the great places to eat in wine country. Some of the best restaurants in the region are right here in town—and yes, Santa Ynez is the town that gave the Santa Ynez Valley its name.
