That’s a damn good sammich..
Perfect bread/meat/cheese/veggie ratio. Veggies nice and fresh. Banana peppers and red onion add a nice crisp crunch on every bite. Nice flavor to the oil & vinegar with just a schmear of mayo. I watched the guy take a lot of care putting it all together. Solid

I didn’t want to have to make this post and contemplated burying it. Had an awesome experience at Salamone’s about a year ago the last time I reviewed them (under my old account). Hadnt had a chance to get back there until today. Couple things…
1. This place has most of the core ingredients needed to be successful. Authentic style, good products, great location…
2. They need more people working there.. I waited 25 minutes for a 5 Points sub. There was only one other couple sitting patiently at a table. They were there before me but I’m pretty sure the girl working there stopped making their sandwiches to make mine first. All three of use stood/sat around with extremely annoyed looks on our faces…
3. The sandwich… speaks for itself. Wasn’t even supposed to have tomatoes but thank god it did… otherwise it was nothing but bread (decent bread btw) with a mere tease of some delicious cured meats and aged cheese..

Sorry Salamone’s… whoever owns this gem in the rough better wake up before they lose a good thing…🫤

Went with the Chicken Salad because, well… haven’t had a Chicken Salad sandwich in forever. Chicken salad was fresh and had good flavor. Fresh lettuce, onion and tomato on some tasty sour dough bread. Overall it was pretty damn good. My only complaint is that there was a big hole on one of the slices of bread. Made it kind of messy to eat. If I was making the sandwich I would have thrown out that slice and started with a better slice. Still a good Sammie. I’ll go back again.
