Two Farmers Farm We grow Certified Organic carrots and baby greens in Vassalboro, ME. GAP Certified.

Serving distributors, grocers, restaurants, institutions, food pantries, and other wholesale customers in ME, NH and MA since 2013. Two Farmers Farm is a Certified Organic four-season vegetable farm located on a historic family farmstead in Scarborough, Maine. Our fields lie between the clamor of cars and trucks on Route 1 and the delicate ecology of Scarborough’s saltwater marshes. We are passionate about feeding our friends and neighbors while protecting the unique ecosystems that surround us.

Seeding greens! It’s been cold and wet, so we are glad to have dry beds in this high tunnel to keep our seeding schedule on track. Getting our three high tunnels re-built has been a challenge amidst everything else we are still doing to rebuild our farm on new land…but at least we have this one!

We are now in our greens seeding routine: make beds, seed, cover with netting, irrigate…& repeat every 3-4 days!

Mixing salad mix seed and calibrating the seeder! I love an opportunity to make a spreadsheet and do some maths 🧮. In these videos we are using one of the motorized hoppers (running off our truck battery) and a scale to determine how fast we need to drive the tractor + run the hopper motors to get the correct seed density. The last slide is a close up of the motor dispensing seed in real time.

We are really excited to start seeding this week!

This year’s orange “Bolero” carrot crop is the sweetest we’ve ever had. Thanks to the nutrient rich soil on our new farm, our carrots grew sweet, juicy, and abundant despite the drought.

We’ve been enjoying juicy carrot stick snacks, sweet carrot juice for breakfast, savory roasted carrots, and warming carrot soup on these cold evenings.
