Whiskey = grain. Brandy = fruit. That's the difference.

From Cognac to Calvados to pisco to our American apple brandy, if it's made from fruit, it's brandy. And yes, apples absolutely count.

Since 1780, we've been part of the American story. Today, we pause to honor those who made it possible to keep telling it. To those who served and sacrificed, thank you.

Some traditions are worth keeping. Ours started in 1780, and it still begins the same way. With an apple.

Laird’s 86 Proof Straight Apple Brandy is the bold, apple-forward classic that built our name, with “17” on the label as a nod to the fruit behind every bottle. Crafted to shine in cocktails, and just as satisfying neat or on the rocks.

America turns 250 this year. Laird & Company has been here since 1698. When The Wall Street Journal set out to tell the story of America's oldest family businesses as part of the nation's 250th celebration, they came to Monmouth County, New Jersey. They came to us.

Our roots run from colonial orchards to Washington's troops at the Battle of Monmouth, through Prohibition and two World Wars, all the way to the 10th generations walking the distillery floor today. The recipe has not changed. The family has not changed. The commitment has not changed.

We are proud to be part of America's story, and even prouder that ours started before it.

Some recipes earn their place over time. The Golden Delicious is one of them.
Fresh lemon, clover honey, and our 7.5-year-old apple brandy come together in a cocktail that feels both simple and enduring.
