Kentucky Cannabis Company and other small businesses in Kentucky need your help! The Department for Public Health, an agency within the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, filed administrative regulations that increase permit fees for food manufacturing plants.
In many cases, small businesses and small farming operations would see an increase in fees of 1000%. This steep increase would not only be a burden on h**p businesses, but also those individuals and businesses who sell Kentucky Proud items such as jams and jellies, honey, baked goods, sorghum, etc.
We see this as an unreasonable way to raise revenue and a one size fits all approach that would only hurt small operations. The KY economy is facing substantial economic challenges as it is - and this is no time to increase the operating costs of small businesses.
We encourage every Kentuckian, especially those who this would affect, to participate in the process and file comments accordingly. Let them know a "one size fits all" approach is not the way to handle this!
