🍂 Mabon: The Last Harvest 🍇
Today, as the wheel turns toward autumn, we celebrate Mabon- the autumnal equinox and a time traditionally associated with the harvest, gratitude, balance, and the gathering of what the earth has given us.
In Welsh mythology, Mabon is a mysterious figure whose name means “Divine Son.” He was stolen from his mother, Modron, when he was only three days old. He was held captive for years, until a band of heroes, lead by King Arthur, rescued him. His story is one of darkness and return, loss and renewal, and the enduring bond between the natural and the divine.
For us at Mythos Cellars, Mabon feels particularly fitting this year.
Today marks our last day of receiving grapes for the 2026 harvest. 🍇
Now the work changes. The harvest leaves the vineyard and begins its transformation; grape becoming must, must becoming w**e, and this year’s stories beginning to take shape.
So tonight, we raise a glass to the vines, the growers, the harvest, and the work still to come.
To the end of one season, and the beginning of another.
🍂🍷 Happy Mabon from Mythos Cellars!
