RITROVO Italian Regional Foods RITROVO is an internationally acclaimed importer and wholesale distributor of fine Italian goods. Lunch and dinnertimes stretched for leisurely hours.

When we lived in Italy as teachers, we fell in love with the Italians’ slow, mindful way of dining, which relies on local, organic ingredients. When we returned to the States, we wanted to translate their way of eating for American palates. We work with Italian food producers who have been using the same land to grow the same crops to make the same dishes for centuries. They create specialties exc

lusive to their own regions’ microclimates, whose character is impossible to duplicate elsewhere. We want to inspire our buyers and customers with the stories our products tell: of long, proud traditions of Italian culinary craft adapted to the American table. Our Tuscan White Bean Appetizer is an example of such an adaptation. Cannellini white beans, a Tuscan favorite, usually take hours to cook. But we had our supplier prepare them in glass jars with nothing more than olive oil, salt, and sage. The result was an organic, ready-to-eat comfort food that captures one of Tuscany’s specialties. This, along with the rest of our product line, embodies the Italian belief that food should nourish the soul as well as the body.
